I thought to myself, I need to tell her. She's too concerned not to know. Skylar continued to look at me. I sighed and told her about me and Max in the car the other day.
After work, we drove home. It was silence until I brought up her. "Skylar is amazing and I should be able to talk to her." He became angry. "Just shut up and don't say anything about her." But I couldn't help myself. I said, "I can talk to her because she's not only my friend, but my co-worker, and co-workers have to work together no matter what the consequences are." Max became flared and slammed the wheel. "Just stay away from her! She doesn't need to have any business with you!" I told him to calm down but he had it with me. "One more fucking word about Skylar and your out of the house by tomorrow!" I looked away. I needed to have a place to live so I kept my mouth shut the rest of the day.
Skylar looked at me with concerned eyes. Tears began to form. She came over by me. The tears rolled down my cheeks. What am I gonna do now?
