Her alarm went off bright and early at 7am. Both of the boys woke up.
"Jeez, Avery. It's only 7. We weren't planning on leaving for another hour." Dean objected.
"I wanted to take a shower. Go ahead and go back to sleep. You don't need to be up." She replied. They both nodded and went back to sleep. She came out after a while and brushed her hair. It didn't take her the full hour, but she wanted to give the boys some time. She woke Sam up.
"Hey babe." He said with a sleepy smile.
"Hey. Shower's yours or whatever. It's 7:45. Should I wake Dean?" She asked.
"Yeah. I'd say go ahead." She walked over to Dean and shook him awake while Sam took a quick shower.
"Hey. It's 7:45. Sam's in the shower. I figured I should probably wake you." He nodded and sat up, wiping his eyes and the drool off of his face. As he sat there, he kept dozing in and out of sleep.
"Dean, you ready?" She asked once they were packed up and about to head out.
"Yeah. Let's go." He replied.
"Dean. Give me the keys."
"No way. Why?" He asked, oblivious to how out of it he was.
"You're barely staying awake. You need to sleep. I'm driving." She insisted with her hand held out. He regretfully handed them over. They all piled in. Within minutes, Dean was out. They drove the long ride and finally made it there at about 11:30 pm.
They got to their hotel and settled in. They decided to go find Caleb in the morning. "You slept a lot today. How ya feeling?" Avery asked Dean.
"A lot better. Thanks" Avery gave him a nod before they all climbed in bed.
"How are you, babe? You drove the entire way today." Sam questioned.
"A little burnt out, but ok. I just want to find Caleb and get this over with." She replied.
"I know. We will. Just try to get some sleep." Sam added. She scooted closer to him and he messed with her hair as she drifted off.
They got up in the morning, got dressed in their FBI outfits, and made their way to Caleb's house. They knocked on the door.
"Caleb Williams?" Dean asked. A distraught guy about their age opened the door.
"Yes."
"We're with the FBI. We need to speak with you."
"I talked to the cops already." He insisted.
"Well you need to talk to us too. The FBI conducts their own investigation." Caleb nodded and let them in. "Ok. So just answer our questions and you should be fine assuming you aren't hiding something." Dean added.
"Did you kill your girlfriend Lucy?" Sam asked.
"No. No way. I loved her."
"But you're the last person she talked to."
"But I didn't kill her. No one believes me, not even the cops. Why would I kill the girl I loved? I had no reason to. Please. You have to believe me." Caleb begged. Sam and Caleb went back and forth as Sam was trying to get a confession out of him, but nothing worked.
"Sam, come on. Let's just go." Avery whispered.
"Ok. Alright, Caleb. We'll give it a rest. If there's any new info you find about who killed her, let us know." Sam gave him his number and they left. They headed back to their hotel just so they were alone to discuss.
