Percy POV

"Holy Hephaestus" Leo breathed. My Gods the girls looked amazing tonight. "What he said" I stuttered, my heart pounding. Annabeth was wearing a long, strapless dress that almost touched the ground and fluttered gracefully around her as though there was a breeze passing through it. It was a dazzling silver colour that shimmered as though lit up by a thousand tiny lights. It clung to her body, pulled taut around her, up until her knees, where it sprang out playfully, sweeping across the floor whenever she walked, giving the effect that she was gliding rather than walking across the ground. She giggled girlishly at what must have been a dumbstruck look on my face and did a little twirl for me, tilting her head slightly as she smiled at the end of it. I wanted to tell her how beautiful she was, but no words seemed to be able to escape me, so I just stood there looking at her, gaping at this girl who could easily have been a goddess, at this girl who could easily beat Hercules in a fight, this girl who laughed at my bad jokes, this girl. This girl who was my girlfriend.

Emerging from my awe-induced stupor, I bowed to Annabeth and offered her my arm (I think that's how gentlemen do it?). She took it and whispered in my ear "you look dashing", making my heart do a triple twist backflip somersault. Calypso had made me this tuxedo, especially for this occasion. This occasion! I had almost forgotten about tonight in my lovestruck daze. I glanced sideways at Leo and saw that he was beginning to head outside. I led Annabeth out the door as casually as I could in my excitement, and into the Summer-night air. The smell of the sea wafted over us through the starry darkness and I could hear waves lapping against the cliffs in the distance. Hazel let out a squeal next to me as a large shape descended out of the darkness. As it got closer and closer I could make out the outlines of four large winged horses pulling a chariot big enough for the six of us to sit in. As they came to a stop on the stretch of sand in front of us, I could see that Reyna was holding the reigns of four massive black stallions, their fur so black that it seemed blue in the dimly lit night. Annabeth sucked in a breath beside me. I chanced a sidelong glance at her, revealing a smile spread wide across both her cheeks, which were now flushed bright red with excitement. "Mister" one of the pegasi snorted "Master Perseus?" I nodded. "Your father, the sea king sent us to you. He said something about escorting you and a lady  friend." The other three horses whinnied cheekily and I felt the blood rush into my cheeks. I led Annabeth over to the small step attached to the side of the carriage and she slid in next to Hazel. Leo led Calypso over, and she allowed me to take her hand and help her in as well. She smiled at me. A smile that spoke of an untold sadness about what was to come, but also showed that she was happy for me. I returned the smile as she daintily sat down beside Annabeth. Leo was next up the step, and he extended a hand for me to take. "Dude" I said. But before I could say anymore he had moved into the three seater across from the girls, waving an annoyed hand at me. "Your loss man. I'm the most beautiful one here." Frank scoffed beside me. I swung myself into the carriage, and Frank followed suit. Reyna came around and shut the knee-high door behind us. "Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I will be your driver for tonight, so buckle up and enjoy the kite." She looked down at her hand. "I mean the night". She smiled sheepishly at me before running around the back of the carriage and sliding into the seat in the front. A rush of wind blew past us, accompanied by the stamping of hooves, before the carriage lurched forward, launching us into the night.
