"Rose?" I heard Alice call from outside my ensuite bathroom door. I turned my head to face the door, away from the mirror. I was just getting myself together after a long flight back from Africa. I actually enjoyed it over there, especially it just being Emmett and I. But the sun and if we ever had to go out in public... it was begining to become annoying. Thats also part of the reason i actually agreed coming back here to Forks for Bella's birthday.
"Yeah." I muttered. I placed my hand on the door knob, twisting it open. On the other side of the door was a smiling Alice.
"Bella and Edward will be over soon." she reminded me. I rolled my eyes, letting out a big sigh.
"Come on, Rose." She whined, "You promised you'd be on your best behaviour."
I nodded my head. I did promise. I wasn't doing this for myself, i was doing this for Emmett. He was excited to go to her birthday party. We all haven't had a real birthday party since 1935. Everyone was excited.
"Just a few mintues. I'll be downstairs soon." I forced a smiled.
Alice nodded her head and swiftly moved out of the room. I turned my back on the door way, not bothering to shut the door. I saw my face in the mirror, the lifeless look on my face. I took a few steps forward and picked up my hair brush, sitting on the bathroom sink. I pulled my long blonde locks forward so they were sitting over my left shoulder I brushed my hair, detangling the knots. I pinned my bangs up with a simple bobby pin to the left side of my hair. I sighed and placed my hair brush back where it was, looking away from the mirror. I lifted my head to look back at myself in the mirror but i saw a grinning Emmett, standing behind me. I tensed with shock. I did not expect him to be there.
"Did I scare you?" He chuckled, making his way over to me.
He wrapped his perfectly scalped arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
"Yeah. I wash't expecting you to be there." I admitted.
He didn't say anything. He smiled, his perfect dimpled smile. He then placed a light kiss on my cheek.
"I love you but..." He paused adding a laugh to lighten his tone, "You take forever to get ready."
I playfully rolled my eyes. I chuckled slightly, nodding my head. I had to admit- i do take a while to get ready.
"Come on then." I turned for the door and lead Emmett out past our bedroom, Down the stairs and to the living room.
Emmett and I stood hand in hand to the left of Carlisle and Esme, slightly behind them. The room was overdecorated. There was table with a white cloth draped over it, next to Edward's grand piano. I eyed the piano. I had this sudden urge of wanting to play. I decided to distract myself by looking away, studying whatever else Alice must have overdecorated the room with. On the table was a pink birthday cake for Bella. Roses were scattered across any flat surface with pink candles. Next to Bella's birthday cake was a pile of silver wrapped presents and a stack of glass plates.
"You don't think this is too much?" I felt the shock look on my face.
"You think." Jasper laughed, agreeing.
Alice shot Jasper a glare and Jasper just simply shrugged his shoulders.
"I meant- It's not that bad." Jasper changed his words, sarcastically.
Emmett laughed from beside me, causing Jasper to laugh. Alice knew that Jasper didn't mean it. She shot both Emmett and Jasper another glare. I couldn't help but giggle at Alice's look on her face. How could a little pixie be so intimidating? I had to give her some credit for it.
