New Year's Eve
I wake up to the sun shining on me. I turn to the side and see Landon is still fast asleep next to me. I touch his face.
He opens his eyes and looks at me. He pulls me closer to him and kisses my head. "This year has gone by fast. We started off not liking each other, then we went through my Grandparents death, nearly dying ourselves in a fire, finding your biological family, you started to trust your siblings and me, joining LA's Angels, you were close to getting your daughter back and lastly you fell in love with me. What more could I ask for this year?"
Me not leaving you?
I lean over and kiss him.
Landon pulls me on top of him and he moves his hand up top. "Can I make love to you?"
I shake my head. "Nope, I told you we're not doing anything until the contract ends." I climb off him. "You have sixteen hours left until the agreement is over."
I move off the bed and pull on a white dressing gown. I walk out of the room and head towards the kitchen.
Maple the cook is standing by the stove cooking something. She looks at me when I enter the room. "Good morning, Mikayla. Someone dropped this off for you today." She points to a thick yellow envelope.
As I look at the envelope my heart drops to my stomach. My hand starts to shake and I pull the envelope to me. I open it and find the divorce papers Grandmother had drawn up for me.
I'm not going to break my promise to you.
I feel a drop hit my hand and I realise I am crying.
There's also a disc in there as well. I pull it out and put it in my pocket.
I'll watch it later.
I seal the envelope just as Landon enters the kitchen.
He looks at the envelope. "What's that?"
I put it in my handbag. "It's not important." I give him a weak smile. "I think we should enjoy the rest of 2016. So, what do you want to do for the last time this year?"
He taps his chin. "Spend the entire day with you?"
I laugh. "Alright, are we staying in or going out?"
"Out, I want to take you to the skating rink in New York. I got the private jet for the day. We'll be back in Los Angeles in time for midnight. I have a surprise for you tonight."
Maple serves us pancakes for breakfast.

After breakfast Landon and I go up to the bedroom and we get ready for the plane ride to New York.
Landon and I walk downstairs and the limo is waiting for us. We climb into the limo. Sasha and Dimitri are in the limo.
I hug my sister. "I can't believe you're coming to New York."
She smiles. "Yeah, neither can I. Landon called Dimitri last night and invited us. Oh, Logan and Robbie are also coming."
I turn to Landon. "Why didn't you just invite my entire family?"
Landon laughs. "I did. But, the rest of the boys are getting ready for your parents annual New Year's Eve ball."
Mum and Dad throw a lot of parties at their place?
I lean my head against the head rest and close my eyes.
I feel the car come to a stop and I hear the car door open as my brother's climb into the car. I open my eyes and look at my brother's. "I'm glad you guys wanted to come with us to New York. Sasha and I are surrounded by too many guys now."
Sasha shakes her head. "We're going to have triple the protection in New York. What did we do to deserve this from our partners and brothers?"
I shrug. "We could beat them up if they get out of hand in public."
Before I know it the car is pulling into the private airport. The driver opens the door and we exit the limo. We climb onto the plane and wait for it to take off.
The pilot tells us we're going to take off in fifteen minutes.
***
The plane lands in New York and we climb off the plane. There's a limo waiting for us. I climb into the limo.
I look at Landon. "What are we going to do here?"
He pulls me into his arms. "I was thinking we visit the statue of Liberty first and then drive to central park and go ice skating."
I don't know how to skate.
I turn away from Landon and look out the window.
He wraps his arms around me and he whispers. "What's wrong?"
I sigh. "I don't know how to skate. That's why every time you suggested it when we were first together I always came up with excuses not to do it. I didn't want you to know that I couldn't skate. It's embarrassing."
Landon rubs my face. "It's alright. You don't have to skate if you don't want to."
I turn in his arms. "I want to learn to skate. Can you teach me today?"
He nods. "Okay, you'll have to stay away from the middle until you've got the hang of it though."
"Deal."
The limo stops in front of the ferry terminal and we climb out. "I booked the tickets last night to see the statue of Liberty again."
We climb onto the boat and we sit up the top. The boat pulls away from the dock and moves towards the statue.
As the boat gets closer Landon pulls me to his side. He takes a selfie of us with the statue in the background. He shows me the picture.
I shake my head. "Delete that picture. My brothers can take a better picture of us." I give the camera to Robbie. "Can you take a picture of Landon and I please?"
He takes the camera from me and takes a couple of pictures of us. Sasha and Dimitri move toward us and we get photos as a group.
A couple walks over to our side of the boat and Landon stops them. "Excuse me. Can you take a group photo for us?"
The guy takes the camera from him and he points to the button he needs to use to take the photo. The guy looks at us. "Say 'New York.'"
"New York,"
The picture is taken a couple of the time and the guy asks Landon to do the same for him and his wife.

At 2pm, we make our way to Central Park to skate. At the ice rink we hire our skates. I move over to a seat and put the skates on. I put my handbag underneath my jumper.
Landon helps me up and leads me to the rink.
I hold onto the wall as I step onto the ice. I feel my skate wobble on the ice and I land smack down on my butt. I rub my butt and rise to my feet. I hold onto the wall again and move around the rink.
Landon is by my side the entire time.
Once I feel like I don't need the wall I push off it and head to the middle. I move my feet around the rink.
Landon speeds up alongside me and he takes my hand. He looks at me. "Do you want to learn to spin?"
I shake my head. "I might break something."
He laughs. "I'll show you." Landon spins around on the ice.
Show off.
Sasha and Dimitri skate over. She looks at Landon. "Show off." She takes my hand. "Let's leave him to show off for the other girls."
Sasha and I move across the rink.
I feel a shove to my back and I fall forward and slide across the rink.
Sasha is a blur across the rink as I try to get back up. Every time I try to stand I slip back over.
I hold my wrist as I feel pain shoot to it.
Landon skates over to me. "Are you alright?"
"No, I hurt my wrist. Some girl pushed me over." I look around the rink and see Sasha getting pulled off the rink by cops.
Dimitri is standing with her and he's yelling at them to let her go. When they look at him they let her go. She throws herself into his arms.
Landon picks me up and skates across the rink. He takes me over to the chair and I take off the skates.
I pull my jacket around my shoulders and put my handbag over my shoulder. Landon rolls up some snow and gives it to me. "Put this on your wrist. We'll get your wrist wrapped on the plane."
We climb onto the plane and Landon wraps my wrist. He pulls me into his lap. "I love you, Mikayla."

At 10pm, I am blind folded and sitting in the limo with Landon. He still refuses to tell me where we're going.
I hate surprises.
I feel the car come to a stop and I hear the door open. I am lifted into strong arms. I wrap my arms around his neck.
Landon whispers. "You can take off the blind fold."
I pull off the blind fold and look at the building in front of me. I see 'Molly' written on the sign. "You brought us to the place you forced me to sign the agreement."
He nods. "This is the place I want the agreement to end where it began." Landon puts me back on the ground. "Kyle is going to let you work behind the bar for a couple of hours like you did. But, this time I want you to serve me."
I laugh. "I'll serve you alright. But, I refuse to be your stripper, buddy." I kiss his cheek and run into the building.
Kyle and Riley look up when I enter.
Riley runs over to me and she gives me a hug. "It's good to see you again, Mikayla. How was your life with Landon this year?"
"It was good. I can't believe he called you guys to relive what happened at the beginning of the year." I look down the bar and see a group of guys waving.
I walk behind the bar and move toward the customers. I make their drink orders. As I make my way down the bar I see Landon watching me.
I take a deep breath and move towards him. I put a smile on face and lick my lips. I push some hair behind my ear. "Welcome to Molly's, Sir. What can I get you to drink?"
He smirks. "I want something sweet like you."
I shake my head. "Sorry, bud. We don't sell something sweet like me. What we do sell is sex on the rocks, a screaming orgasm, a blowjob and my favourite drink a cock sucking cowboy. Oh, if you're daring enough there's blue balls. Now, which drink would you like?"
I didn't realise Riley was standing next to me until she started laughing. She shakes her head. "I can't believe you can say all that with a straight face without laughing."
I shrug. "You learn to keep a straight face when you're with Landon."
Landon crocks his finger at me and I lean over the bar. He whispers. "Surprise me, baby."
Have it your way.
I move over to the liquor shelf and I pull down the raspberry vodka, coconut rum and Blue Curacao liqueur. I pour all three ingredients into a tin shaker and shake it. I add some ice to the mix and serve it in a shot glass. I place the drink in front of Landon.
He looks at the drink. "What is it?"
I smirk. "Blue balls. That's what you've suffered from me this year." I stick my tongue out at him and move away.
I serve customers until midnight.
At midnight the fireworks comes on the television.
The agreement I signed last year is done.
I smile.
Landon looks at me. "Come on, I'm taking you home."
I step out from behind the bar and I wave to Riley and Kyle before I'm swept away in Landon's arms.
He carries me to the limo and he asks the driver to take us home.
At the house he carries me up to the bedroom.
I made love to Landon more than once tonight.
***
At 3am, I climb out of the bed and get changed. I open the yellow envelope and pull out the divorce papers.
I sign the documents and put them back into the envelope. I place them on the table on Landon's side of the bed. I kiss his head. "I'm going to miss you." A tear slips out of my eyes. I'll come back to you soon. I love you, Landon."
I pick up my suitcase and I walk out the door. I open the piece of paper I found this morning, buried amongst the mail. 'You're daughter is in Mexico.' There's an address where they are hiding her.
I'm going to bring her home.
I call a cab and make my way down the driveway. I wait for ten minutes for the cab. It pulls in front of me.
The driver looks at the house and then he looks at the bags. He steps out of the cab and places my bags in the boot.
I climb into the car.
The driver climbs into the front seat. "Where are you going, miss?"
"Can you take me to LAX. I need to get the next flight out of here."
I can't wait to meet my daughter.
