I sneaked another peek at the guy sitting next to me. I had been peeking at him constantly for past two hours. I was pretending to be engrossed in my magazine, my legs curled up under me. I glanced over at him again, only to find that this time, he looked back at me. His eyebrow was raised in amusement and he had a cute little smirk on his face.
"Can I help you?" God. I loved his accent. Most of the time I found American accents really annoying, but I didn't actually mind it when he was talking. (A/N this is my character speaking not me, I have nothing against american accents. I think they're actually really cute ;D). Maybe it's because he was so damn cute. I smiled back at him flirtatiously. If there was one thing that I knew how to do, it was charm a boy.
"Sorry, you just look like someone that I know." His eyes widened, and he looked slightly panicked.
"SHH!!" he said, "don't say anything." Whoa. Okie. Totally not the effect I was going for there. Why was he so panicked about it anyway? Gosh. I decided to go along with it, and so I just laughed.
"Calm down. Jeez. You'd think I'd given away your secret identity or something." The guy seemed to get that I was only trying to flirt with him, and he visibly relaxed.
"Sorry about that. I'm Matt." I grinned. Progress.
"I'm Tally."
"That's a cool name, I've never met anyone called Tally before." I lauged again.
"Yeah, most people haven't."
"So Tally, how old are you?"
"Why? You interested?"
"Um... hell yeah." I lauged, this guy was pretty funny.
"I'm fourteen. You?"
"Nearly fifteen." I had to struggle to keep my jaw from dropping. He did not look fourteen. More like seventeen.
"Yeah, I get that reaction a lot."
"So what brings you to California?" I ask him.
"Going home. What about you?"
"Moving." I said glumly. Matt winced.
"Ouch. Did you leave lots of people behind?"
"My best friend, my friends, my potential boyfriend, my dogs."
"Wow. That has to hurt."
"Yeah, at least I get to see my dogs in six months."
"I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are you moving?"
I hesitated. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to tell him that my brother was going to be in a movie. I figured; what the hell. It's not like I'm ever gonna see this guy again.
"My brother is going to be in a movie." Matt's jaw drops.
"No way! That's so cool! Is he like an extra or something." Haha. How awkward. He thinks that my little brother has some piddly little part off to the side.
"No. He's one of the main characters."
"Holy Crap! You know, my cousin is going to be in a movie pretty soon."
"Really? Which one?"
"If I told you that, I'm afraid I'd have to kill you." He says.
"What's your cousin's name?" At that moment, Matt gets really nervous again. He bites his lip and looks away.
"Why don't we talk about something different then?" I suggest to him. He relaxes and nods, looking really relieved.
"What's your favourite colour?" I ask him.
