Chapter 1: Awakened
I peel open my eyes to see a white half transparent sheet hanging above my head with small lights dangling from them like icicles. Under the sheets were small, white, circular, paper lanterns. The bed is pressed against the wall to the right and the wall behind my head. On the right of my head are shelves lined with books. I sat up and examined the bed. The sheets are pastel pink with faded floral patterns the comforter is a champagne color, and there is a crème loosely knitted blanket laying on the bed. I twist around to see an abundance of pillows were my head was. I looked around the room in amazement. On my bedside table was a crystal vase with dogwood flowers, and a picture frame of people laughing and smiling. There are two white panels that were ajar with clothes overflowing from in between them With an antique like full sized mirror in front of one of the panels. Next to the bedside table is a large dark colored dresser with clothes erupting from it to. A makeup table sat in the room with a mirror in a gold vintage frame, and squeezed in the same wall space was a upright piano. The last wall the one my bed was pointed at was plastered with pictures.
I pulled the sheets off my legs and immediately notice that I had no reptile scales on them. Now excitement started to build inside of me as I pushed part of the sheet that draped down from the ceiling out of my way. I propelled my body towards the closet and stood in front of the mirror. I couldn't believe my eyes, I had become me again. Not the snake monster me, my human form, Eve. I looked at myself. I had on a deep blue long sleeved shirt with grey pajama bottoms. My legs were long, tan, and not a single scale on them. While looking at my legs my hair dipped into my vision making me pull it back and finally look at my face. My hair was dirty blonde, and fell into ringlet curls that end at my waist. The hair was not thick with horns but was thin with no horns at all. I was avoiding looking at my eyes I didn't want to see the endless blackness. To my surprise I felt my head slowly lift upward and meet eye to eye with my mirror self. My eyes weren't snake like or black. They were round like a baby deer and a deep moss green color. They sat perfectly on my suntanned face with freckles splashed all over. My lips were a dusty rose color and my eyelashes are black and long. I forgot what I looked like after such a long time.
As I was admiring myself in the mirror I noticed a bracelet. I pulled it out from under my shirt sleeve. On the chain were small pieces of wax seals that had been heated up and pressed into a circle like shape. There was a small, silver apple charm on the chain. There was something strange about the chain, there were more chain loops wrapped around the original chain. There were imprints on the metal pieces all were different.
Intrigued I picked up one of the wax sealed pieces and looked at it. One of the wax sealed pieces had a bronze color that had the word "sloth" printed on it, and on the backside was a snail. The next one I looked at was silver with the word "gluttony" and on the back was a pig. The next piece of wax was a copper color and had "greed" etched into one side and a wolf on the other. The next piece of wax was different from the rest it was larger than the rest and a oxide green color and the words were barely legible but read out "envy" on the back were two gold sticks facing up and down resting on a gold stick facing left to right. Under the sticks was a gold braided pattern. A gold snake was depicted curling its self around the gold sticks climbing upward. The next wax circle was the smallest and had "Lust" written on the front and the back had a ram pressed into the silver wax. The second to last piece I looked at was copper colored and had "pride" pushed into it and a male peacock flaunting his feathers on the back. On the seventh wax piece was "wrath" on the back it was a lion's profile. The lion was on its hind legs and its two front legs raised as if the lion was going to fight.
I was examining the bracelet more when I heard the door open. I turned around in time to see the wall of photos open up and a figure stood in the doorway, and stepped into my room and was suddenly flooded with light. It was a women. Her hair was the same color as mine, but was pulled into a tight bun on the top of her head and was obviously shorter than mine. She had dark blue eyes, but beside that she looked like me. She was a little shorter than me but not by much. She was wearing a loose fitted, long sleeved, purple V-neck. A long pair of black pants and a pair of brown Vans on her feet. Over all of it she had a crème knit shall that sat on her shoulders. Her face was kind and humble looking.
