The After Games

Chapter 18-The Creature's Fight

-Mavis-

The creature is still following us back to our tree, sometimes it gives us the evil eye then it goes back to normal. "Is he gonna try to kill us or is he just a good creature, I doubt it." I think as we all get cuddled in the now tiny tree.

"Hey little creature, would you like to stay guard for us, then just growl when anyone comes?" My intelligent brother asks the animal. He nods oddly and crawls out of the tree and he just sits there. I look at Travis and say,"Good job."

In the night it is burning hot! I'm constantly drinking the water from the bottle sometimes I even think the bottle will melt!

We hear the animal growl, we struggle with getting out of the small house cause the heat was just continuously growing soon I feel like I was in a box with hot coals surrounding me, and I NEED to get out!

"Travis?!?" I say as my skin is feeling like melted crayons. "Mavis?" He says coughing even though there was no smoke.

"Where's the animal?" I ask my brother. He shrugs, soon it gets too hot that I can't stand it!

I run out of our hiding place to find the creature with my brothers spear.

"What do we do???" My brother asks me,"Fight or Run?" I ask him. "Lets fight." He says confidently. I run in the tree and grab my bow and arrow and knife, it's practically melted in there. I also grab the water bottle before it gets gross melted things in there.

"Catch," I say as I throw Travis my knife, he does a little move with it and he try's to hit the animal.

Almost all the trees are practically melted.

"Weird....." I think, "This creature is the capitols work." I grab an arrow,and hit the animal. It bounces back,"What the?"

I hit it again several times but they all bounce back.

"Umm Travis.. This thing is invincible!" I yell as I'm thinking about running.

"Or is he?" My sibling says I'm still puzzled.

He throws a rock at the creature, it growls madly it starts running towards us. We duck as it throws Travis's spear at our heads. "What are you doing?!? That's just gonna make him mad!" I yell as I start to jog towards an empty nearby bush. Then that starts to melt like everything else.... "I hope I don't get melted!" I think worried.

Meanwhile when my brother is still throwing the rocks at the animal, he looks bored.

Out of nowhere, the mean animal sighs and walks away. "See! You just have to make him bored!" My annoying brother says satisfied.

"Whatever." I say annoyed. "We need to get out o here before we melt!" He says and we start sprinting towards a non-melted area.
