11:42 PM. As I walk up and down the platform, waiting for the 11:52 PM train, I can't help to think why I decided to work late in the library after school. Don't get me wrong I love reading but when all the "bad kids" deal drugs in the back corner because they think it's cool, so they make a mess of every thing to distract people and then they can get drugs. I know this because I've watched it go down before.
I get pulled away from my thoughts when I hear a car, that's blasting obnoxious music. I glance over to see an old Honda Civic pull up with 4 teens all in the same grade as me. Ashton Irwin. Michael Clifford. Luke Hemmings. Calum Hood.
"Alright see ya tomorrow," Ashton says is his Australian accent, that'll make any girl weak, as he slams the car door and starts to walk towards the stairs that lead up to the platform. As he is about half way up the fleet of stairs, he glances up to me and catches me staring at him, so he winks. Which causes me to turn a deep red.
We don't talk; in fact when the train comes we get on separate cars. But 5 minutes later, the sliding door that connects the cars together opens up. I thought it was the conducter so I took out my ticket. When I look up, I saw a tan face, shaggy blondish hair, and bright white teeth smiling down at me. He was wearing a black hoodie, with the hood up, black skinny jeans, and black boots. God, why is he so perfect?
"Hey," was all he said.
"H-hi," I said awkwardly because I'm a potato.
"Where are you headed?" He asked, while sitting down next to me.
"Home, why do you want to know?" I snapped. I worried he was planning onto find out where I lived and rob me. He paused for a few seconds.
"I'm just trying talk to someone because my phone died and I'm really bored. Plus there is no one else on the train." He said. The way his dimples showed when he talked was extremely attractive.
"Oh," I replied. I didn't know what else to say. I was still in shock that he would just walk up to me and start talking to me as if I was and close friend.
"What school do you go to?" He asked. The conductor was walking towards us, so we both quickly grabbed out tickets and handed them to her.
"You two look so cute together!" she said.
"Oh w-we're not dating," I said while turning a slight pink.
"Yea I would never date someone like her," he said in a gross manner. Ouch, that was rude. Luckily the lady just walked away. I just stayed quiet.
"You didn't answer my question," he told me.
"Western High School," I said quietly.
"Really? I go there too. How come I never see you around?" He sound shocked. Why was he acting like nothing ever happened?
"We're in the same Geometry class," I said flatly while turning my head to face the window as I watch the tall buildings start to fade away, " I just don't talk that much."
"Oh, well what's your name?" He asked.
Right as he asked that question the train jerked to a stop.
"I would like to apologize that we have engine failure and that it's going to be about one hour to repair," The Captain said. I glanced down to my phone to check the time. 1:08 AM. I throw my head backwards so it hits head rest of the chair I was sitting in. I look over to my right, and see Ashton still sitting there, moaning about how much he wants to get home.
"Looks like we're gonna be best friends," he turned over with a huge devilish grin smacked on his pretty face, " I didn't catch your name."
"Sarah Connors," I told him, " now if you excuse me I'm going to listen to some music." I pulled out my head phones and had to untangle them because they're a mess just like me.
"But then I'll be lonely," he told me.
"Why are you even talking to me? I'm not in you clique," I asked him with so much confusion.
"I told you," he said,"I'm bored and my phone died."
"But why didn't you just stay in your original car and rest or do homework or something? Why did you decide to talk to a random girl that you never knew existed until now? Even though we've been in at least one class together since freshman year," I snapped angrily. Why did he want to talk to me all of the sudden? We never new each other personally. Ashton always got in trouble at school. He would always make unnecessary comments in class and he would skip class to go behind the bleachers to smoke cigarettes with Luke, Michael, and Calum. So why would he be interested in a girl that worked in the library?
"I don't know," he mumbles. Oh.
7 minutes later the train starts back up.
13 minutes later it pulls up to my stop.
2:43 AM.
1 hour my ass.I quietly say 'see you tomorrow' as I pack my things up and walk off train.
