I crept out the door, so careful not to awaken my parents, if they caught me I had no idea what to do, but the only thing I could do is make a run for it. I’m not the sort of person that takes risks, I like to play it safe and then nothing bad tends to happen, however at this point in my life it seemed that I wasn’t the one to make choices for myself.

My warm breath pierced through the chilly frost bitten air like sharp fangs penetrating my neck.

The darkness overwhelmed me , captured me in its evil presence. It seemed the terrifying noises of mysterious creatures echoing thought the streets didn’t help my paranoia. My black pupils were wide with fright as I kept looking behind, every time I heard a sudden noise. It was so quiet I could hear the whistling wind, whisking in between the life like trees that edged my road leading onto the horrifying, forbidden  Darterson Woods. I got closer and closer and I dreaded my painful death was as well. I walked as fast as I could, my shoes barely touching the ground, partly from fear of being out at gone midnight, it truly was like a ghost town, but also because I knew I couldn’t be late. I shivered, it was freezing out despite my warm coat, goose bumps covered my arms, but I knew in a few seconds the coldness wouldn’t be my biggest problem, it would be to successfully survive.

I entered the dreaded, Darterson woods, careful again not to be seen as it’s “out of bounds”. The rotten log was in front of me surrounded in the usual dead brown leaves that you would expect to see in a wood, they crunched under my feet adding to the atmosphere of feeling alone and deserted. My heart was beating so fast as I nearer the entrance of the “lair”. I walked up hastily but nervous at the same time , terrified of what I may discover.

The entrance loomed upon me and I hung back fear, to scared to enter, I wondered how I was ever going to get enough courage to go inside. Why had I never had premonitions of this moment? Maybe there was a reason, a clue that I shouldn't be here? My doubts and fear suddenly were destroyed in a slash of a second when I glanced to the left of the entrance, there he was. Lit up by the casting moonlight. Jake. Just what I needed.

I stood there for a moment in bewilderment at how stunning he looked, different from at school somehow, I couldn't put my finger on it. The gentle moonlight danced upon his gleaming cute black eyes, and reflected the shine of his admirable gel spiked hair. That's when I noticed the difference, his eyes, they were black, and they used to be blue! Contacts perhaps....

 I’d always wanted a pair.
