The Hogwarts express pulled into Hogsmeade station, and the student piled off the scarlet steam train. Amiss the students was one recovering Harry Potter. Despite having a good two and a half months to recover after he had been released from hospital, Harry was still not quite recovered. He had the occasional panic attack, which would leave him recovering in hospital as he had oxygen being pumped into his lungs, and he would occasionally suffer from excruciating headaches, due to damaged nerves from frequently experiencing the cruciatus curse.
Ginny glanced at Harry as they weaved through the babbling students around them. His eyes were glazed over, and his breathing was coming in short gasps. If they didn't get out of the mess of students soon, Harry would have a full panic attack. Ginny swiveled around to look at Hermione, who was a short distance behind, and silently communicated with her. Hermione nodded, understanding Ginny's silent plea. Ginny grabbed Harry's hand and with Hermione pushing through the students urgently, they managed to get to a carriage in short time.
Once Harry, Ron and Hermione were in the carriage and seated, Ginny kneeled in front of the gasping Harry. "Harry," she said soothingly. "It's alright. No one else is here. Just me, Ron and Hermione. You are safe, sweetie."
Harry just grabbed Ginny's hand and pulled her onto his knee. Ginny hugged Harry, while his breathing started to slow. Finally, when they reached the school, Harry's breathing had returned to normal. They exited the carriage and made their way up to the grand castle, which was lit up against the black sky.
The four had arrived at the front of the crowd of student, so they were the first to reach the great hall. Ginny could see Lily, James, Sirius and Remus sat at the teacher's table. Lily had come to teach potions as Slughorn had taken his retirement once more, James to teach Charms as Flitwick would be helping a disabled first year get a grips with the school, Remus to teach Defense and Sirius would be helping Hagrid with teaching Care of Magical Creatures.
Ginny started to walk through the doors, still holding Harry's hand, when she was yanked back. She turned to find Harry looking into the hall with a look of wild panic in his eyes. Ginny frowned, she couldn't understand why he would be afraid of the great hall, but still Ginny turned away and pulled Harry from the entrance.
"Ron, tell Lily and James that I am with Harry and that he is fine. If they want to see him we will be in the common room. We'll get dinner later. Hermione what's the password for Gryffindor tower?"
"Numquan Veritus." Hermione replied.
Ginny nodded her thanks before turning back to Harry. "Sh, sweetie. You're really not having a good day are you? Lets go to the common room and we'll talk there."
Harry gave a short nod and started to slow his breathing down. Ginny took this as a good sign and started to walk slowly towards the Gryffindor common room. Eventually they arrived and Ginny lead Harry over to the armchair directly in front of the large fireplace. Ginny sat down in the armchair next to his and turned to Harry. "What's wrong, Harry?"
Harry sighed. "I'm just tired." Harry replied, looking at Ginny. "The late night, early morning and long train ride took its toll on me, I think."
Ginny nodded in understanding. Harry did look exhausted. "Kreacher!" Ginny called, knowing that the house elf was working at Hogwarts for the time-being.
Kreacher popped into view. "What is Mistress Ginny wanting?"
"Please could you bring me and Harry some dinner? Thanks, Kreacher." Ginny replied just as Kreacher popped out.
Twenty minutes later and Harry was starting to nod off in his armchair. Ginny watched as Harry's head lolled forward and stayed there. Ginny decided to let him sleep until the feast was over, although, she would have to do something about the position of his head. Ginny grabbed a cushion from the sofa and placed it against the side of the armchair. Then she slowly and carefully moved Harry's head onto the cushion without waking him. Ginny smiled and gently took his glasses off, placing them on the coffee table. Noticing that Harry felt slightly cold, she quickly ran up the boy dormitory stairs, into Harry's dorm and grabbed the blanket of his bed. Returning to the common room quickly, she gently placed the blanket on Harry, tucking it in around his shoulders.
