"Dad!" Harry shouted, his voice echoing through the halls of Potter manor. "I'm leaving for the Weasley's!"
"Have fun, son. And good luck!"
Harry grinned as he stepped into the green flames that licked the wall of the fireplace that was extravigently decorated for Christmas. It had been two years since he had graduated from Hogwarts. While Ginny had gone straight onto a job playing for the Hollyhead Harpies, Harry had gone from job to job, just intent on enjoying his life. Harry and Ginny's relationship had bloomed through the years and they had become closer and more intimate, even though they had spent less time together. Despite this, they still remained girlfriend and boyfriend.
However, Harry wanted to remedy that.
"The Burrow." Harry called, the butterflies in his stomach became more persistent.
Harry toppled out of the fireplace, and landed flat on his back in the middle of the lounge amiss laughter. He groaned and sat up, cheeks red from embarrassment and hair ruffled from the floo travel. Harry stood up and turned to Ginny, who's eyes were sparkling from laughter. "Care for a walk?" Harry asked, trying to mask the nervous squeak in his voice.
"Um, yeah." Ginny replied, looking curiously at Harry.
Harry gave a half smile and bid the others goodbye before leaving with Ginny.
Harry lead Ginny across the meadow that surrounded The Burrow whilst trying to pluck up the courage to ask Ginny the question of fate.
Ginny coughed, "Erm, Harry. Are you alright? You're not - You're not breaking up with me - are you?"
Harry gave a start and turned sharply towards Ginny, who had tears in her eyes. "What? No, no, Ginny, never." Harry held onto both of Ginny hands and looked into her eyes. "You mean so much to me. You have helped me through some of the hardest times in my life. I will never forget the support and comfort you gave me when I was at my worst, and I will never forget the fun we had at my best. Ginny, I - Ginny, will you marry me?"
Ginny gasped as Harry presented a ring to her, and shakily opened it. An emerald sat in the middle of the ring with small diamonds surrounding it. Ginny stared at Harry in shock.
"Do you want time? I'll give you time, have as much time as you want, it's okay, I mean you probably-" Harry's rambling was cut off with a smouldering kiss from Ginny.
"Yes," Ginny whispered in between kisses.
Their kiss intensified.

"Mum, Dad! We're home!" Ginny shouted as the door slammed behind them.
"How did the walk go?" Molly asked from the lounge as they made their way into the room.
Harry and Ginny glanced at each other as the Weasley brothers groaned that they did not want to know the details. "Oh, you know, the usual." Ginny said, sitting down on the sofa. "Just the usual, walking, talking, skipping, running, getting engaged, sitting by rivers and snogging, playin-"
"What did you just say?" Bill asked, who had come home with Fleur for Christmas.
"What? Sitting by rivers and snogging? I really don't think you want to know the details..." Ginny teased, looking coyly at Harry.
"Ginny, are you engaged?" Molly asked, staring at Ginny's ring finger.
Ginny smiled in answer.
