The months flew by in a blur of work, stress and exhaustion for the seventh years. It became common for Harry to find himself waking up in the common room with a piece of parchment stuck to his cheek and a blanket over him.

As they entered December, Harry found himself tiring due to the huge workload and the nightmares that had become a nightly occurrence. The dream of the couple being hit with identical spells had come back, but the colour of the spell changed with each nightmare. It left Harry feeling unsettled and caused him to loose some much needed sleep.

So it was one Thursday evening when Harry stumbled into the hospital wing and called out for Madam Pomfrey as he lied down on his usual bed.

"Harry, what is wrong?" Madam Pomfrey asked, rushing out of her office.

Harry looked at her, tears in his eyes and his eyes drooping from exhaustion. "Can I have some dreamless sleep potion?"

Madam Pomfrey clucked her tongue and measured out the required amount. "Nightmares?" She asked, handing Harry the goblet.

Harry nodded, "Please don't tell anyone."

Madam Pomfrey sighed, legally she couldn't tell anyone as he was now of-age. "Are you sure? They'll wonder why you are in here when you don't turn up for classes tomorrow - no, don't argue. You are in no state to go to any lessons tomorrow."

"Fine, tell them." Harry sighed before gulping down his potion and dropping off to sleep.

The next day Harry faded in and out of sleep all day, vaguely remembering his parents, Remus and Sirius siting by him, until evening came and Ginny was sat next to him. Harry sat up and smiled at her. "I was really tired because of the nightmare."

Ginny just sighed and held Harry's hand. "You should've told me before coming here. You have no idea how much we all panicked this morning! Do you think you'll be well enough to go to Hogsmeade tomorrow?"

"I forgot about that! I'll ask." Harry replied. "Madam Pomfrey!"

Madam Pomfrey darted out of her office and came to stand by Harry. "Yes dear?"

"Will I be able to go to Hogsmeade tomorrow?"

Madam Pomfrey smiled. "Yes, I'd say you can leave now. However, next time you feel as though you are getting very tired, come to me. Then you wont miss a day of school for it."

Sheepishly Harry nodded and made his way back to the common room, smiling as Ginny ordered him straight to bed.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, diddle-a-dum!" Ginny sang as they walked down to Hogsmeade.

Harry smiled and kissed Ginny on the cheek. Her laughter and happiness was infectious and Harry found himself starting to get into the Christmas spirit.

"Oh hippogriff, oh hippogriff, thy wings are so unchanging." Harry sang loudly.

Ginny stared at Harry, her eyes wide and her mouth wide open. "That's the first time I've heard you sing."

Harry grinned, "Oh little town of Hogsmeade."

Ron and Hermione, who were walking just behind Harry and Ginny, smiled at the couple. It was nice to see the two having a good time.

"Walking in a Hogwarts wonderland!" Ginny sang.

Harry grinned, grabbed Ginny and threw her over his shoulder and started to run down the path to Hogsmeade.

"HARRY JAMES POTTER! PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!" Ginny screamed inbetween laughter.

"NEVER!" Harry yelled back.
