Chapter Nine

"Why'd you do it ?" I growled at Violet as we started packing.

"Do what ?" She scoffed and I rolled my eyes.

"You set this up that's what ! You knew I wanted to go on that trip with Traver."

"Well excuse me for trying to help you get closer to Ray. Doesn't he live in LA?"

"Yeah but-"

"Exactly there are no buts . Well just know this is my last time trying to save your ass." She rolled her eyes and bumped pass me.

I sighed plopping on my bed rethinking what she said. She's right of course. She was trying to help me and I'm running after a boy who I need nothing to do with.

" Vanessa , someone's at the door for you !" Allena yelled from downstairs.

I groaned pulling myself together and running downstairs to see Traver waiting by the door.

I stepped outside with him shutting the door behind us.

"What's up?" I put my hands in my jean pockets.

"Nothing , you guys going some where?"

"Yeah." I sighed rolling my eyes."Violet told my mom that we should go by my aunt in LA , so that's where we're going."

"Oh." He looked down and nodded.

"Im sorry Traver I really wanted to come its just-"

"It's okay Vanessa , I'm fine." He smiled and I nodded making me smile a little.

"Alright & plus there's tons of fun things you can do in Hawaii without me."

"Psht no there isn't ." He smirked and I gasped pushing him.

"Nasty." I giggled but then remembered what Ray said last night."But um Traver , I have to tell you something."

"What's up?"

"Well I-"

" VANESSA ! Come on & finish packing mom & dad said lets go!" Violet came outside interrupting me.

I sighed."Well I have to go , I'll tell you when I get back I guess."

"Alright later Nessa." He pulled me into a warm hug swaying us from side to side until I released.

"Bye." I waved running back into the house purposely bumping Violet on the way in.

After loading up all of our things in the van my mom passed out our plane tickets and we headed to the airport.

"Why do you have your beats , a cover , and a pillow?" I looked at Allena.

"Well because ." She rolled her eyes."I'm going to sleep & toon out of this world when we get on the plane."

"Ugh dad why are we stopping?" Violet groaned .

"We're bringing Jas'maria out there. Your aunt wants to see all of my children." My dad hopped out of the car.

"Well why didn't she ask for Anthony." Violet scoffed turning to my mom.

"Girl I will smack the attitude out of you , what's gotten into you lately ?"

"Nothing , I'm fine . Why do I seem not fine ? I'm fine mom." She put on THE most fake smile EVER!

"What ever , just know that what ever it is that's gotten into you . Your not too old to get it beaten out of you." My mom turned back around in her seat.
