I wanted to kill him, but with his family here plus my mother and son; there would be too many witnesses. The girl had no respect there were children in her mist as she kissed him several times in front of all of us; with tongue, I may add. Jonah was too busy playing with his food to notice that his father was a huge jackass. I grabbed a bottle of vodka from the liquor cabinet and poured it into my lemonade glass. To think I was just going to have a few beers tonight, well fuck that I am going to for the hard stuff now.
It was when Jonah called out for Dean that he finally noticed the people in the room with him. Bless Jonah's little heart as he begged for Dean to pick him up. This was something I expected him to do tonight. I watched from the kitchen as Dean pulls away from the woman he brought with him and to heads over to his son. His eyes find mine as he lifts Jonah into his arms. They began to swell as Jonah excitedly hugs his dad for the first time. He was handling this better than both of us.
He walks out of the room and outside where Dustin got a bonfire going in the backyard. I follow him as I walk as he lifts Jonah over his shoulders and smiles. Mom was right, he wanted to see his son again; just not me. I sit down and drink my hard lemonade. Everyone eventually makes their way to the bonfire, but I stay on the porch. Jonah was already winning the hearts of Dean's family. I couldn't hold my laughter as Jonah ran around being chased by his dad. The only person who wasn't pleased with the sight was the woman he brought with him. She lights up a cigarette next to me and sits down.
"You pleased with yourself?" She asks with a snare in her voice
"Excuse me?"
She gives me an irritated smile, "He just wanted to piss you off. Now he's paying attention to the damn kid more than me."
"Well, he should be. The boy is his son."
She chuckles, "Don't talk back to me; you slut. And you better keep that little bitch of a son you have away from Dean and me."
Oh hell no, I was not being treated like that. I get to my feet and chug the rest of my drink before I knock the bitch into the mud. I punch her several times in the face. She wasn't going to make out with my ex, insult my child, and myself; then expect to get away with it. She tried fighting back, but she wasn't quick enough to fight me. If there was anything I learned from Dean; it was to fight my own battles.
"Don't you dare talk about my son like that! He's a just little boy!"
Dean was pulling me off her before I could lay another punch. The woman and I were both covered in mud, but a little dirt never bothered me. However, she clearly wasn't used to being in that state as she began bitching everyone around her out. She continued to insult my son and me as Dean hands me over to his brother. I had to be held back at this point; I look over at Jonah, who's crying in my mother's arms.
"Mom, take Jonah inside, please! I do not want him to see me beat this woman up again!"
Dustin's grip on me tightens, "Jeez Cassie, you've done enough! Can't you see you busted her lip?"
"Well, I think she deserves a broken nose now!""Come at me you stupid slut!" She screams as she pushes Dustin and me into the mud.
"Oh hell no! I just got these fucking jeans clean!" Dustin yells as he helps us out of the mud. However, I am right back in the mud attacking the bitch before he can hold me back again.
Dean is trying to pull his woman away from me, but he quickly realizes that he has no chance. He quickly moves on top of me and drags me away from her. His brown eyes meet mine, and instantly realizes how angry I am at him for bringing the bitch in the first place. I slap him across the face as hard as I could.
