Chapter 15
"Clara?" a voice said, pulling me away from my dream of a very sexy Adam Levine.
I let out a sound of protest and pulled the covers over my head.
"Clara! For God's sake, it's 10 in the morning. Get out of bed already!" the British voice said.
I remained where I was.
"Have it your way then," he said.
I heard footsteps going away from me and relaxed into the bed. I peeked out from under the cover and was suddenly blinded as the curtains were thrown back. I immediately let out a hiss and shoved my head back under the comforter. Then the sheets were ripped off of my body.
I. Died.
I let out a shriek of surprise and bolted out of bed.
"Give me back the damn sheets, Arthur," I growled.
"Clara, it is 10 o'clock in the morning, and it's time to work," he replied, folding the sheet over his arm.
"Yeah? So what? Like I care what time it is." I said, squinting as my eyes tried to adjust to the harsh lighting.
Arthur let out a sigh and looked at me.
"We've got to get to work. Meet me in 5 minutes in the hall." he said before turning on his heel and walking out.
I sighed and got dressed quickly before following him out into the hallway.
He looked me up an down as if judging my ratty jeans and crinkled t-shirt.
"What? You said up, and I'm up!" I snapped.
He sighed and pulled a cord down, and the attic'a staircase came down with a clatter and a creak.
"We aren't going up there are we?" I asked.
"We are doing precisely that," he said and disappeared up the rickety ladder.
I sighed and followed him. I came to the top and saw that it wasn't a normal attic. The whole place was like a 3rd floor that was dimly lit by candles here and there. In the center of the room was a huge pentagram, and I felt immediately sick to my stomach. My mom had been into this shit? MY optimistic and joyful mother who raised me to always see the bright side of things?
I stood up and walked over to Arthur who was picking through a cabinet of things I really didn't want to see.
"Is it usually a certain thing that sets the sessions off? Or does it just happen randomly?" he asked me.
"Uh, I'm allergic to peanuts," I said. I understood what he meant, but I had no clue.
"Have you ever eaten a peanut and had an episode after?" he asked.
"No, I'm allergic. I wouldn't eat one voluntarily and subject myself to death over peanut butter." I replied.
He turned to face me and let out a sigh.
"Fine, I'll 'wing it'? Isn't that what America refers to it as?" he said.
"Yes that's what we American say," I replied getting kind of annoyed with his constant hatred of the American ways. I didn't like America all that much but yet I was American. It shows you that all Americans aren't like him.
He walked towards the Pentagram, and I followed right behind him. We crossed over the pentagram, and I felt a warm breeze rustle my hair. He stopped, and I bumped into him.
"I'm sorry," he said turning around quickly to face me.
I was confused and then something hard hit my temple. It hurt, and I was smart enough to know that Arthur had just punched me. Why? I had no idea.
My body twisted, and I hit the ground on my side, only causing more pain throughout my body. I stared in shock at nothing in particular and pressed a hand to my temple where it hurt the most. A tear slid down my cheek, but I wiped it away and turned my gaze on Arthur who was looking quite shocked. I jumped to my feet and sucker punched him as hard as I could.
He fell backwards onto his back and stayed down. I jumped ontop of him and pinned his arms to the floor.
"You wake me up and tell me I need to get ready to work with magic. When I come up here you end up beating me up. What the hell!" I shouted.
"I was winging it! You usually have them when you pass out, correct? Well I was seeing if it worked or not!" he exclaimed, turning a bit red.
"Still! You hit a girl, and your supposed to be a gentleman!" I snapped back.
I got up off of him and started down the ladder.
"Where are you going?" he asked.
"Out to cool off, mom," I snapped and jumped down into the hallway.
Right now I just needed to cool down and get as far away from this place a possible.

I'm so sorry I haven't updated lately. I've been working on the state fanfic pairings and the hetalia fanfic me and my friend are writing. Plus I was grounded from electronics for awhile until I got them back a week ago. Then I had school to worry about with a bunch of honors classes and stupid marketing class that makes me want to pass out cold on the floor. -_- I've had a bunch of homework from those classes which sucks.
Then ontop of that, my swim coach resigned in early August and now my 19 year old best friend David is coaching.
But what takes the icing is this. Apparently the place where I practice is closing down because they're not making enough money <cough, cough> bullshit <cough> So as of September 7th, 2013 it will close its doors on December 31st and my swim team wont be able to practice together anymore, meaning I will have to say goodbye to my second family and some of the best friends I have. Yaaaa
Can you tell I've been busy?
