Chapter 24

August 23, 2013

Dear journal,

It's been a crazy month of no updates and for that I am sorry. Let me fill you in though.

After I came home from England, I caught Francis in bed with another woman! I has been so happy to come back to him and Paris and when I caught them, it felt as if my heart was breaking. Does that mean my walls are down again or that I think I love him? I don't know what to do anymore.

After that I remember running to my room and then falling on my balcony. When I woke up, my legs were bleeding and Francis was cleaning the wound. I passed out while he was sewing it up, and when I woke up, England was bleeding from the chest on the couch. Apparently Oliver wants me back or else he's threatening to hurt everyone I care about. I don't see what other choices I have. I must give myself up to him to not allow anyone else damage.

If I'm not supposed to be caring about anyone to avoid them being injured, then I'm doing a poor job. I am going to Rodney's wedding and had originally planned on taking Francis. However due to the incident listed above, I asked Arthur. Now he and I are going to the wedding and Francis is tagging along for work and to simply bug Alfred. Even though the wedding isn't until September 7th, we're on the plane right now and it's only September 1st. I have no idea what we'll do for the next 6 days. And with the day, that I hate as much as needles, drawing nearer, I really don't want anything to do with anyone.

Until tomorrow diary. So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, adieu.

I closed my laptop and nestled into the comfy seats of the first class plane. I left my headphones on and listened to the soothing sound of Lady Antebellum. I looked over at Arthur and saw he was asleep. I stifled a giggle and gently pulled his coat up on his lap.

I saw Francis look at me out of the corner of his eye. I caught his eye and he turned and shoved his face quickly into his magazine.

'Immature buffoon,' I thought sarcastically to myself.

That's how the plane ride went for the next 8 hours. Arthur slept. Francis and I avoided eye contact as much as possible.

I looked out over the Atlantic in awe. It was so pretty. Even though it went on forever, it still managed to look beautiful.

"Ma'am, would you like something to drink?" a flight attendant asked, pulling me from the view.

"Water please," I replied.

I pulled out my planner and opened it up to the date. I chewed the end of my pencil as I looked at the date that had been circled.

"Here you are ma'am," the flight attendant said, offering me a water bottle.

"Merći," I said.

She moved on down the aisle and I looked back at my notebook. The date was coming closer and closer. My mouth went dry and I took a drink of water. My eyes flew over to the wedding invitation that I had stuffed in there. I unfolded it and took another drink of water.

'You are cordially invited to the

wedding of

Rodney Brian James

&

Mikayla Ann Turner-'

I promptly spat my water out of my mouth and did a beautiful spit take all over the back of the seat in front of me.

'Mikayla's marrying Rodney?!' I thought to myself. my eyes had probably grown to the size of baseballs but I didn't care. How had I not known that?

"Are you okay miss?" the flight attendant asked, handing me a napkin. I took it from her and wiped my mouth before wiping down the seat in front of me.

"Pardon her, madmouiselle. She still nothing but a child that needs help." Francis said, his nose still in the book.

I turned to Francis and shot him a look. Then it hit me. Francis had been the one to give me the invitation by reading it. He had read it to me over the phone while I was in England.

"Francis," I growled, handing the napkin back to the flight attendant as she walked back to her station.

He didn't look up but I saw him tense up.

"Francis." I snapped.

"Oui?" he said, trying to regain his composure.

"Why the hell did you not tell me it was Mikayla's wedding we were going to?"

"I don't know. The thought never came up I suppose."

He slowly drew the magazine away from his face and looked at me.

"Bull crap. I'm pretty sure you knew I was best friends with the President's daughter and I'm pretty sure you knew his last name." I said.

"Clara, you're making a scene," he said.

"Does it look like I care? How could you not have told me something that important?" I exclaimed, standing up. Francis stood up also, his face completely emotionless.

"I need to talk to you privately," he said, grabbing my wrist and leading me into the bathroom.

The bathroom on a plane is one of the tiniest I've ever seen in my life. And that was just with one person in it! I was flush against Francis with my back pressing into the hard sink. Francis wasn't muuch better. He had his tall frame bent in over me so he wouldn't slip into the toilet.

I looked up and blushed at the close proximity.

"You wanna know the real reason why I didn't tell you?" he said.

"Considering that I asked you first,

then yes," I grumbled looking away. I couldn't stand to meet his eyes when they were this close.

"I didn't tell you because I knew what had happened to Mikayla and you. I knew that it had you torn up over it for a few weeks. I didn't tell you because I wanted you to have a good time without the hurt of your past being brought up. If I told you earlier, you wouldn't have even thought about coming." He said. His eyes locked onto mine and he drew in a breath.

"You don't know that!"

"I've known you and lived under the same roof as you for over 6 months. I'm pretty sure I'd know that you'd over react."

I stared at him and he stared straight back. We continued staring until I grabbed the front of his shirt.

"You do anything like that ever again, I'll have your head," I said.

He smirked but it was only half heartily. I turned to leave and could've sworn I heard him say.

'You already have a part of me that's easier to break than the head,'

IM SO SORRY I HAVEN'T UPDATED ANY PART OF THE STORY. I APOLOGIZE SO HARD.

I've just had a lot of crap going on. I'm out for summer and will try to update sooner from here on out. However I might be taking this story down. I thought I knew where this story was going but now I don't and when school starts back up, I honestly don't know what I'll do with it.
