The bar

Dad obviously has people working in the bar besides him,
so me and Connor won't be alone.

We're close to the staff here anyway,
probably because dads been friends with them for years.
Lily, rob, Kim and Shaun.

'I'm going now, make sure nothing happens to the bar,
or there will be trouble.'
dad says doing the top button of his shirt up.
- 'No parties.' He adds.

Me and Connor look at eachother,
I roll my eyes and he sighs.

'Dad, we know. You've told us before'
'Hol, I'm just making sure.'
'Well don't, you can trust us.'
'Anyway, you've probably told lily, rob, Kim and Shaun about you going out so I'm sure they will keep an eye on us..' Connor says.

'Behave.' He says hugging me before rubbing his hands all over Connors hair.
'Omg daaaad, I just done my hair!!'
'Sorry, mate. See you both later.'

'Have fun, not too much fun though' I say before everyone starts laughing.

He leaves so I make my way down to the bar. I sit behind the bar and keep a close eye on Connor.
He's talking to someone on the phone in the corner of the bar.
What's he up to?

I'm paying so much attention to Connor, I don't even realise that someone's waiting to be served.

They cough
clearly a fake cough.
I look up suddenly.

'Sorry about that.' I smile awkwardly,
- 'I was keeping an eye on my little brother over there.'

I look back over to Connor,
still on the phone.

'No problem..
can I have a pint of beer, please?'

I look at him properly,
when I first looked at him,
I didn't
pay any attention.
