Jessica was where she usually was ever since she moved in with Jack and Lydia Gilmer. Her room. She didn't really go out much and only really left when her best friend Rose Vermillion forced her to go to the mall which she hadn't liked very much.

The amount of people in the mall were outrageous so she avoided malls all together. Another reason at which she despised them was the one and only Britney Winterpiz with her blonde hair and usual short clothing. Usually she was at the blasphemous mall with her followers wasting money on whatever caught her eye she was sure.

Jessica at the moment was reading a book she had borrowed it from her foster parents. At the side of certain pages there were these strange marks that were like strange 6s mixed with an S to diagonal lines overlapping it. She just ignored the marks and continued reading engrossed in the stories. It was a series of stories and customs. Jessica was sure it was the customs of some sort of book that involved witches and warlocks. It talked about the customs of mourning and wedding and festivals they had. Some had stories of supposed legends.

There was a knock on the door.

"Jessica!"

It was Christoph in their short time there Christoph had already made himself a top dog in their new school. He also already had their foster parents love him. For the first time in a really long time there didn't seem to be a problem. Jack and Lydia were nice and only had them do their own chores. They didn't use them as slaves or abuse them in anyway as many foster homes had before.

"Yes," Jessica responded in slight annoyance putting down her book and bookmarking the page with a random piece of paper.

"Dinnertime, Jack and Lydia want to talk to us." Jessica nodded and waved him off with a roll of eyes. She then got off the bed in jeans and a large plain charcoal grey shirt that hung off her small frame. She swung open the door and bounded down the stairs silently. When she arrived at the kitchen Lydia had her back to her with dark blue hair and snow white skin , her eyes a chocolate brown. She was the same age as Jack or at least Jessica supposed so. Beside her was Jack brown hair styled down with gel. Then across from him was Christoph with perfect hair as always in a ruffled messy puff. He had on a green shirt and jeans on his wrist he had a metal cuffed bracelet with a silver T sprouting black metal wings. Jessica shrugged,Christoph must have gotten a new bracelet.

Jessica eased back a chair making Jack and Lydia jump in their seats from surprise. They didn't notice her it was normal of course nobody ever seemed to. Christoph gave her a single glance and nodded his head in a greeting. Jessica did the same thing back before sitting down.

"Well," Jack started clearing his throat. Jessica knew what this was about. They were going to move again like they always did.

"Well we have been discussing some things," Lydia put in as if trying to decide how to say what she was going to say. She placed her small perfectly manicured hand on top of Jack's.

" We wanted you two to know that we want to adopt you," Jack said smiling, Lydia beamed besides him. Jessica eyes grew wide in surprise.

"We would be honored to have you guys adopt us both ," replied Christoph. He had recovered before Jessica who was still in shock.

Jack and Lydia both smiled happily looking at Christoph who was smiling. Jessica was still stuck. They wanted to adopt her, she thought to herself. Why? They both turned towards Jessica giving her a worried look. They were both asking a silent question with their eyes 'are you okay with that'.

Within the walls of her mind Jessica didn't know how to react nor what to feel. How could she? She had been hoping for a day in which someone would finally want her ever since she got stuck in the foster care system. And now the day has come and she didn't know what to think, what to feel. She had been living with them for 5 months which was one of the longest she had been anywhere really. It wasn't that she didn't like the Gilmers it's just all she had left was her name. She would have to change her name. The system had taken everything but Jessica's name. Now it was going to take all that was left.
