Chapter 7

Minnie's POV

Monday morning Riker and I were at the doctor's office.

"Relax babe. it's gonna be fine." he soothed.

"I hope so," I said as we waited. I didn't need it to be complicated.

"Lynch," a nurse called out. We stood up nd headed to the back room, them needed urine samples from us both, Riker ushered off to get well a sample. in a private room, while I headed off to get a VERY invasive vaginal exam done.

I was in with the Doctor while they were examining me.

"I know this is uncomfortable but we need to figure out why you're not conceiving, it may be something as simple as medication we need to put you on," he consoled as he finished up.

"Really? How soon will you know why and what we can do differently?" I asked as I straightened up.

"It'll take a couple days to get the results, then we'll set and appointment to discuss a game plan and options" he said.

"Thank you," I said.

"Doctor. the husband is waiting to come in," a nurse said.

"Oh of course." the doctor said and in came Riker.

"How fast can we get results?" he asked.

"I was just telling Minnie a couple days," Dr Reeves said.

'Um how could we rush them?" Riker asked.

'Well, rushed tests are a bit more expensive." Dr Reeves said.

"I can handle the cost," Riker said," it's not a problem."

"Alright, then I can have them in sex hours before end of day at most," he said.

"Perfect ," Riker said. We finished talking to the doctor and paid to rush the results. On the way home we got take out and went to the beach.

"Don't be so nervous, I'm sure its nothing." he said.

'I jut feel bad you had to make it with a cup." I giggled.

"Nah, I just had the image of my last birthday in my head." he smirked.

I looked at him," which part?" I asked, leaning back on my arms.

"The night cap. I was wasted but so were you ride of my life babe" he smirked.

I giggled," all I wanted was you," I said," im sure it was a great birthday"

"It was pretty phenomenal, helped me end quick" he chuckled.

"Oh yeah? I think the passion was very much there in the moment."

"Definitely." he said, kissing me softly, 'So, eat up babe but as you do tell me, what happened with you and Jeny the other day? I thought you'd be thrilled to see her."

I frowned," she lied and ran away from everyone including me. Best friends don't do that," I said.

"No, I guess they don't. she seemed pretty busted up" he said.

"She wants everyone to just forgive her like nothing happened. You can see it on her face," I said.

"Well I don't see anyone doing that, but Ross is SO excited to go get Daniel today, our nephew really is a beautiful little guy." he said.

"it's hard for me to see babies right now without feeling sad. I know Ross has to be very excited. I can't wait til we figure out what to do to help us have our own," I said.

"I know, but I spent a bit of time with him, Daniel, he's super cute, and yes its sad, but we'll get thru it, I promise." he said.

"I know we will. I have you and that's what I need," I said. I ate a little bit.

He smiled and kissed me softly before we took a romantic selfie, me kissing his cheek. He had become obsessed with instagram and it kinda drove me nuts. He got typing right away and I smiled at his caption

After we ate I laid my head in his lap. I looked up at him.

" I don't know what I'd do without you," I said.

"Me neither babe," he chuckled, just as my phone beeped. He glanced over and groaned.

'Seriously??? this picture is your background," he laughed.

"You were cute and it was the first photo shoot I ever went on with you!! and the one you finally asked me to be your girlfriend." I giggled, "It's sentimental"

"And old. I'd barely turned 20 there." he said.

"I can change it," I said kissing him. I flipped through and changed it to.

"NO no, if YOU love it, I love it" he smiled.

" it was time for a new one anyway," I said with a smile.

He smiled and kissed my cheek as I changed it, then she reached for my phone.

"What do you have on yours?" she asked and pulled dup my homes screen.

"I love it," I said with a smile. He kissed me softly. He stretched out beside me and I rolled onto my stomach. he gently ran his fingers over my back and kiss my shoulders.

"Minnie, I want you to know, if something is wrong, with one of us, id be okay wiht adopting, but im not sure how I'd feel about well um surrogacy" her said, honestly.

"Surrogacy it'd still be ours but there's no one to ask now anyway. Adopting maybe our only chance," I said.

"Maybe I just want us to be prepared." he said, "The doctor would offer some stranger for surrogacy Or Rydel might."

"I definitely don't want a stranger to do it," I said.

"Definitely not but Ry might." he said.

"I would have asked Jeny if she hadn't up and abandoned me" I said, sadly.

"She really hurt you didn't she?" He asked.

"She could have called me if she hadn't of been thinking of just herself," I said upset.

"And I would have talked her out of it," I added.

"She would have listened too," he said.

"I know she would have, and they could be married and raising Daniel together. I knew something was wrong. I felt it but I did nothing," I choked out.

"It's not your fault," he said.

"I feel like it is a bit. like I should have sensed it" I said, softly.

"How could you? Unless she told you she was pregnant."

"I know, ughh I just. this sucks I wish things could just go back to normal." I said.

"Well it's done now. They can only go forwards."

"If they do. Ross may never get over this" I said.

"Then they go separately forwards," Riker said.

"Well I don't know if Jeny would survive that" I said, softly.

"She only gets what Ross is willing to give her," Riker said.

"I know" I said, softly, "As angry as I am with her, I still hope she doesn't go over the deep end."

"I don't think she will," he assured me.

"I hope not" I smiled.

"They'll be fine. no matter what happens, one way or another, they'll both be fine," he said. I smiled leaning over I kissed him. I loved him so much and was glad it wasn't us struggling.
