Three months later
"Beep beep beep!" My alarm clock screeched. I woke up excitedly. Today was my first day at White Puffle High with a membership! I couldn't wait to see Wendy's face!
I would walk into school, all eyes on me. "Who is she?" "That can't be Wendy, could it?" "No, she's definatly not as ugly!" People would say. "Wait a minute, it's Serena!" "She's so cool!" I would walk to my locker, and enter my combination flawlessly. I would spray paint it pink and decorate it with teal decorations. I would slam it closed, and three feet behind me, Wendy would be talking to the Stylish Popular Penguins, Kiara and Iantha, and then she would look at me. Her jaw would drop. She would be so jealous. I'd make non-members a trend. I would overthrow her as the most popolar, cute, and stylish penguin in the school.
I turned off my alarm so Aqua wouldn't wake up, but it was too late for that. He hopped onto my flipper and squeaked. "Sorry!" I apologized, but he didn't mind. He hopped off, and played with his favorite red and yellow beach ball. I brushed my long blonde hair and put my blue butterfly pin in my hair. I ran to my closet and picked out my blue ruffly dress I got earlier that summer from Pengercrombie. I put in on carefully. I slipped on my buckled blue flats, and did quick mascara. I packed my books in my bag which went around my neck and under my arm. I filled up Aqua's food bowl, ate blueberry pancakes, brushed my teeth, and ran out the door. "Bye mom, bye dad!" I shouted as I got on the bus. As I expected, people stared at me. Trista was the only person staring in excitement. She was on the first seat of the bus to left, and patted the seat. I sat next to her. "You're finally here! I've been waiting forever! I can't wait to see Wendy's face!" Trista said. I nodded. "She'll jump out of her flippers when she sees me," I said, "and I'll make non-members the new trend!" Soon enough, the bus stopped at White Puffle High. "Come on!" Trista shouted excitedly. We walked in. I was happy when I figured out my locker was the same as last year, except I had two better people next to me. Trista and Dominic! Dominic is my crush, and he's a non-member, but I didn't mind. Dominic was a black colored penguin with red hair styled in "the flip" and the teal T-shirt identical to the one I wore last year. I carefully spray painted my locker pink. Then, I put teal letters on it that spelled "Serena" and opened it up. I spray-painted the inside as well and put a teal mirror on the side, a teal chandelier on the top, and taped teal hearts all over. I then taped a picture of Aqua next to my mirror and placed my bag inside. "This is so awesome, we're neighbors!" Trista exclaimed. "Hey, are you new?" said a voice, I turned around. It was Dominic! I blushed. "It's me, Serena! Remember me from Mr. Icy's homeroom last year?" I asked. "Whoa, you got a membership! You're lucky," Dominic said. "So anyway, who do you guys have for Homeroom?" I asked. "I have Mrs. Waddlers," Trista said. "Oh, I have Mr. Sled. You?" I said, turning to Dominic. "Mr. Sled. We're in the same homeroom again!" he replied. "Aww, well I hope Austin is in my homeroom," Trista said. Truth is, me, Trista, Dominic, and Austin were the only non-members in homeroom, so we all became close friends. Austin was a dark green penguin with the green T-shirt and brown hair styled in "the flip" like how boy's hair are supposed to be without membership. "I hope that even though you're a member, you'll still sit with the three of us at lunch," Dominic said. I nodded. "Of course I will, you guys are my best friends! I'm not like Wendy!" I said. "We better head to class," Trista said. I nodded. "See you at lunch!"
I had a great homeroom. We got to pick our seats, so of course, Dom and I sat next to each other. Austin wasn't there, so he either had Mrs. Waddlers or Mrs. Cloud. I was glad to find that Angus, Wendy, and Iantha were nowhere to be found, but Kiara was sitting in the back. Then Wendy waddled into the room, same red ponytail. The only thing different is that she was wearing a blue sparkly dress. I groaned, and Dom mouthed "sass alert." Wendy scanned the room for any victims to sass or new penguins, when all of a sudden her eyes stopped on me. She then sat down next to Kiara, but was eyeing me for the whole class. "Hello, I am Mr. Sled, and I'll be your homeroom and Language Arts teacher," said Mr. Sled. We pretty much stayed in homeroom for the whole day. Then the bell rang, and it was finally time for lunch. "That was strange," I said. Dom nodded. Suddenly, Wendy, Kiara, and Iantha, who just got out of Mrs. Cloud's homeroom, waddled up to me. "Serena!? Is that you!?" Wendy asked. I nodded. "Yes, I got a membership. Now if you exuse me, I'm going to have lunch with my friends!" I said, grabbing Dom's flipper and running to our lockers to meet up with Trista and Austin. "Hey guys! How was homeroom?" Trista asked. "We were upset you weren't in Mrs. Waddlers' Homeroom," Austin said. "Yeah, Angus was a real pain in the flipper!" Trista exclaimed. "Uh oh, sass alert," said Austin. Behind us, Wendy and the Stylish Popular Penguins were walking towards us. Iantha was a purple penguin with the same sparkly dress Wendy had, but in violet. She had black hair, styled in a ponytail identical to Wendy's ecxept with black hair instead of red. Kiara was a deep pink penguin with the same dress as the other two, except in red. She also had brown hair pulled into the same side ponytail. "Serena," Wendy started, "sit with the Stylish Popular Penguins at lunch. If you don't," she pulled out her Pengphone 6+, "we'll post this picture of you on Arcticgram!" The picture was a well-photoshopped picture of me, pushing Dom and Trista against the lockers. "Hey, that was you, not Serena, so why not quit lying and get a life!" Trista shouted. "Because what I say, goes." Wendy replied and waddled away with sass in her step. How I hated that penguin! "Well, I guess I have no choice," I said, as I waddled to the lunchroom with a face of regret.
