I completely DREADED school the next day. Sure, it was Friday, but I messed up BIG TIME yesterday. I lost my only friends due to selfish lies. I put on my pink hoodie, magenta checkered sneakers, and I put my hair in a bun. I put on nerdy glasses and put my hood up. I looked in the mirror. I looked lonely and miserable. "I deserve it" I thought. I was too sad to eat breakfast, so I waited on a bench, cold and alone, for the bus. Did I mention it was pouring? How cliché will this story even get? Trista scowled as I walked down the row to the last seat on the bus, which was always empty. The ride to school was slow and boring. Finally, the bus stopped and I waddled slowly into WPH. I didn't dare make eye contact with the S.S.P. or my old friends. I got my books and headed to math. Somehow I managed to pay attention, though I could feel Austin glaring at me from his desk. After that long, long math period, lunch period came. I knew exactly where I was going to sit. Alone.
As I walked though the hallway, people were staring and laughing. They must've heard what happened! I ran to the non-member's table and sat alone on the end again. All of a sudden, I found about half the school crowded around me. "HAH! Only a complete LOSER has an imaginary rainbow-unicorn friend!" What!? Who told anyone about Princess Sparkles?! "Yeah! To think you sucked your flipper until you were 10! You're such a pookie!" What!? Where were they getting this from!? "Did you REALLY pee your pants in 4th grade on picture day!? You ARE such a pookie!" Then, the S.S.P. walked over. "You made a TERRIBLE mistake messing with us. Backstabber. Because of that, we've revealed all your biggest, darkest secrets!" Wendy said. "WHAT!?" I screamed, my face turning pale. Tears were streaming down my face. "And now to reveal the biggest secrt she HAS!" Wendy shouted to the crowd. "NO!" I screamed. "She has a crush on Dominic Arctic!" Bright red spread across my snow-white face. Tears were streaming. Everyone was laughing so hard. My eyes darted everywhere. It all happened so fast. Then, my vision got blurry before everything went black.
(Dom's POV)
A huge thump came from the middle of the crowd, and Trista went wide-eyed. The whole cafeteria laughed. What just happened? Just then, Trista pushed through the crowd. "OUT OF MY WAY!" she screamed. "MOVE YOU BISH!" I heard her shout to Wendy. "What's going on?" I asked Austin. "I dont know-" he was interrupted by Trista. "AUSTIN...DOM! GET OVER HERE..." She screamed in a worried tone. We shared worried goances as we ran through the crowd. "Oh my Arctic..." Austin said. Serena was lying on the floor, unconcious. Our faces went pale. Without hesitating. I scooped her up in my arms and ran to the nurse. Trista and Austin quickly followed. The nurse was busy giving someone a temperature check, but I didn't care. "NURSE! THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!" Austin shouted. "Oh dear...we have to call an ambulance immediatly!" Nurse said, looking at Serena. 2 minutes later, sirens could be heard and we helped Serena in. "Do you three know why this happened?" Nurse asked us. "Yeah, Wendy, Iantha and Kiara were telling secrets about her and everyone was embarrasing her so much that it was too much for her to take in. Then, she fell unconcious..." I said. "I better report that immediatly. I'm glad you got her here when you did." Nurse replied, "You three can take the rest of the day off if you please for your actions. I will inform the principle that it was my idea to let you." "Thanks," Trista said. We waddled to the door and down the sidewalk to Snowflake Street, where we all live. I was thinking about that last secret.
"She has a crush on Dominic Arctic!"
That thought echoed in my head. My face was painted red. "Hello? Earth to Dom?" Trista said, waving a hand up and down my face. "Oh-uh, sorry..." I said. Austin smirked. "You like Serena, Don't you?" "No-well, maybe...yes." Trista smiled. "It was obvious..." I gulped. "I feel bad about how we treated her yesterday. What kind of best friends are we?" I asked. Austin sighed. "I don't know..." "I even slapped her yesterday...now look what we did..." Trista said. We all glumly got back into our igloos in shame.
