*yawn*
The night at Rarity's house was amazing! She let me sleep in the most comfy bed I have ever seen! It was sort of like the memory foam at my house, but I was able to sink into the mattress as if it was made of the foam!
Rubbing my eyes, I looked at the clock. It was 9:30, and I usually start the day a lot earlier. Rainbow dash must not be a morning pony. I thought about asking Rarity where Rainbow lived, and trotted out to the kitchen. Rarity was on a couch, reading the newspaper gossip column. When I came in, she looked up and smiled.
"Oh, Sugar, I was hoping you would wake up! Dashie isn't exactly thrilled about having to teach you about loyalty on the ground, since you don't happen to have wings... oh look! She's here now!" A blur of colour zoomed outside of the window. Soon, the door flew open, and in came Rainbow. She looked unhappy to be there.
"So, Sugar are we gonna go or what? We can get something to eat at the town center, and then I can try to teach you stuff."
"OK. I am coming." I replied. After saying goodbye to Rarity, Dash and I started off in the direction of the restaurant. "So... what do you like to do other than flying?" I asked, trying to start up some conversation.
"I play sports" rainbow said simply.
"I liked to play sports too back home. I liked soccer, basketball, and volleyball. "
"Really?! Yeeeessssssssss, now I have an idea about what we can do today! I was going to have to miss a soccer game to teach you about my element, but now I can go! We were going to be missing a bunch of players anyway, so you can be our substitute! Oh, just to warn you, we aren't the best team in Equestria... we are only good because all the other teams are scared of one of our biggest players. Bulk Biceps. I remember the first game I played was when..."I let rainbow continue to tell me about how many games her team won and other soccer stuff until we finished eating, and got to the soccer field. A team in pink, purple, and beige were warming up their giant, white goalie on one side of the field, while a slightly bigger team with blue and gold were on the other side. Rainbow led me to the pink team. She grabbed two jersey from the bag on the ground, and whistled for her team members to listen. Immediately attention was centered on us.
"Team mates, I know I said I couldn't be here this fine day, but it turns out my work includes me participating in this game against Fillidellphia. I brought our sub, Sugar to play for someone if they get hurt."
I waved at the members of the team, nervously. I was hit with a bunch of greetings, and welcoming comments. I smiled. This made me feel right at home.
A pony wearing black and whiter blew his whistle at the middle of the field. This must be the ref, I thought. 9 players per team trotted out onto the field. The game started. At first, the game we t real, you well. Dash scored 2 goals, and Bulk saved 4 in net. The team was working really well, until a butterfly flew in front of bulk as the other team came on a break away. Bulk was so busy with the butterfly, he forgot about the game, and the other team scored. This was when the Pony ville team broke down. Arguing was happening on both the field, and the bench, as Rainbow patted bulk on the back saying nice try. Pretty soon, the ref blew the whistle for halftime, and the game halted. Fillidellphia was up 5-2, and the team was getting nowhere. The coach from the other team walked over to the ref to ask a question. The ref seemed to think for a minute, then nodded. The coach smiled, and made his way over to dashes team. The other coach started to speak, then.

"Rainbow dash, since one of our players feels sick, the ref has agreed to allow us to offer you a spot on our team for the rest of the game. Maybe then you can be on the winning team for once." The coach said, waiting for dashes reply.
" thanks for the offer, but my loyalty lies with my team. I don't need to win all the time, friends are just as important, if not more. So, thank you, but I will have to turn down your offer."
All the ponies on the field were silent, staring wide eyed at rainbow with awe. That was the most loyal thing I had ever seen. Everyone knows how important winning is to dashie, no one knew, however, that friendship and loyalty meant more.

They won that game, 23-5. The players had suddenly received courage and determination, after rainbows little proclamation, and destroyed the other team, coming out as winners. Rainbow was carried out of the field, and into Sugarcube Corner to get a treat that is fit for a hero. She shared her treat with me.

Now, rainbow and I were in rainbows cloud house, sitting by the shelf covered in trophies, with Tank, rainbows pet tortoise. We were swapping stories about funny and awesome sports games we were in.
"...and then, my friend who was in the crowd stood up, and threw a pie plate covered in whipped cream at the older girls face. They were enemies for years after that. My team still managed to win the game , by slam dunking, right over the shortest players head! A girl on my team named Grace accidentally scored on our basked, forgetting which one was ours!" Rainbow laughed. I had been telling her about a game I had played in that was unforgettable.
"I need to tell you about this one game...wait! It's almost 10:00! You need to write your letter to the princess!"
"Oh my goodness! I almost forgot! Thanks for reminding me!"I found a paper in a drawer, and rainbow gave me a quill. I began to write...

Dear Princess Celestia,

I surprisingly had a great day with rainbow dash. Truthfully, I thought it would be boring, but I actually had a good time. Well, enough beating around the bush.
Rainbow first arrived to pick me up from Rarity's house to go eat, all the while "entertaining" me with her fantastic adventures on sports fields, arenas, courts, you name it. It was mostly about soccer, though, because I mentioned that I played it back at home.
Rainbow decided to take me to her soccer game, where I got to be the substitute player, incase somepony got injured on Pony villes team. Of course, no one did. Rainbow proved to me, and everyone else on the team how loyal she is during the break at halftime. She had the chance to switch teams when hers was down 5-2, but she told the coach where her loyalty lies. With her friends. And her friends do weren't on the other team, they were on Pony villes. After that, everyone looked at her differently. I want to be looked at with that same awe and respect. In my opinion, the lesson Rainbow dash taught me on loyalty was a success.

Your friend in training,
Sugar Blossom.
