I was in the "Arrow Lab", as I liked to call it- in my head, of course, because I wouldn't dare say it out loud, especially in front of Oliver- when I caught news of the Particle Accelerator. It exploded and Barry had somehow gotten struck my lightening. Iris called and told me that Barry was hospitalized but had been moved to S.T.A.R. Labs.
In case you were wondering, I'd previously lived in Central City for about a year or so before Oliver returned from Lian Yu. While I was there I met Iris who later introduced me to Barry. We hung out quite a lot in my time spent there and we became quick friends.
"I'm gonna go check on Barry," I said to no one in particular.
Oliver averted his gaze from Felicity long enough to look me in the eyes and say, "Are you crazy? Do you know what kind of radiation an explosion like that could have left behind?"
"My friend got struck by lightening, Ollie. Radiation is the least of my problems. Besides, it's been eight months. If there was any radiation after the explosion it should be gone by now."
I went home to pack my stuff, incredibly greatful to myself that I decided to keep my apartment in Central City. As I was heading out, my mother stopped me.
"Where do you think you're going, young lady?" she asked in that motherly tone.
"I'm going to Central City. My friend is in the hospital and I'm going to be staying there for a few days to make sure he's okay."
"Okay, sweetie. Be careful," she saud before walking off into the living room.
I shoved my bags into the back of my Impala and drove off to Central City. Before heading to S.T.A.R. Labs, I went to my apartment to take my bags inside and get myself situated. The apartment was nothing special. It was a simple apartment, about average in size. Being a Queen, I'm sure you'd expect a giant loft, but I didn't really see the point as I was previously living alone and I have to admit I really missed living by myself.
Once I was settled in I drove to S.T.A.R. Labs. When I got there I stopped to gawk at the architecture. It really was such a beautiful building. It was extremely tall, too. I wasn't entirely sure where I was headed once I got inside. I didn't even know where they were keeping Barry. This is when I wished I would have let Iris know I was coming, so she could have just led me there. I got off the elevator and I was in a big room with lots of open space. There were computers and other techy stuff.
"Can I help you?" a Hispanic boy asked.
"I'm lost. I'm looking for Barry Allen," I said.
"Just follow me," he said. "I'm Cisco, by the way." He extended his hand out for me to shake.
"Julia," I said as I shook his hand.
"Iris told me a lot about you," he said. "She said you lived here for a short period of time."
"Yeah. I went back home after my brother came back from, uh," I trailed off.
"A deserted island in the middle if the North China Sea?" He noticed the confused look on my face. "She also may have mentioned that your brother is Oliver Queen."
I nodded. We made it to the room Barry was being kept in. "Oh my god." I walked over to him, my heels clicking on the floor as I walked. I held his hand in mine and tears welled up in my eyes. Cisco walked over. "Is he going to be okay? How is he? Is he stable?" I bombarded him with questions.
A woman walked out of an office and said, "Barry is going to be just fine. I assure you, this is the safest place he could possibly be."
"Barry couldn't possibly be in better hands," Cisco interjected.
