Sorry I said Darren instead of Tony in the last chapter towards the bottom!!

Aubrey

“You skipped first period?” My mom said angry looking at the note that was sent home to her.

“I’m sorry it was for a good reason.” I mumbled.

“Aubrey it’s the first week of school you can’t just cut!” She said raising her voice.

“Look it was nothing, I won’t do it again.” I complained and walked off to my room.

I couldn’t exactly tell her that I skipped class with a guy, she would just be even more mad. Something about being in the weight room with Jacob today made me feel…closer to him. I couldn’t exactly give him every detail about Tony…I couldn’t explain that to anyone let alone him. Chills went up my spine as I thought of Tony and last year.

“Come on baaabee!” he slurred.

“Let’s get to it!”

“Babbby please?”

I had to get these thoughts out of my mind before the sobs came. And the best way?

I quickly dialed the number and prayed that they would answer the phone.

“Hello?” Jacob asked.

I let out a sigh of relief. “Hey.” I simply said.

“Aubrey, hi.”

“So, I know it’s random, but do you want to meet up at the park to do homework?” I asked. Never had I been so up forward with a guy I liked, but I was desperate.

“Sure, I’ll have my brother drop me off.”

“Great see you soon.” I smiled to myself and grabbed my bag and darted out the door.

“Where do you think you’re going?” My mom asked.

“To do homework, with a friend.” I quickly said.

“I want you back by nine, it’s a school night young lady.” She snapped and let me out.

The park was only two minutes from my house so I took my time walking there. I kicked the rocks on the street with my new black high tops and washed the ducks splashed around in the pond. Whenever I felt stressed out, or needed to be away from everyone I would come here. I sat down on the bench and pulled out notebook and sketched a baby duck sitting on the edge of the water. No one really knew that I liked to draw; it’s something that I only wanted myself to know.

“That’s really good.”

I turned up to see Jacob looking down at my drawing. Well, I guess only me knowing wasn’t the case anymore. “It’s nothing special.” I murmured and put it away and quickly pulled out my history notes.

“Well, I think it’s really good.” He smiled and sat down next to me.

“Thanks.” I blushed and tried to look down at my books and look like I was actually concentrating on US history. It could bore me to death.

“I hate history.” Jacob complained and flipped through the pages of his textbook.

“Ms. Horn can put me to sleep in five minutes.” I agreed.

“We should ditch that next time.” He chuckled.

“No! My mom got so mad at me because of you.” I playfully hit his arm and laughed.

“Oh come on you know you liked ditching with me.”

Well, I did.

“Whatever you say.” I sighed and jotted down notes.
