"All right, just sit back and relax, and let me just continue the cooking." Said Francis as he stood up and went to wash his hands on the sink after he put some burn ointment on my slightly burnt hand. He turned back to me and then he let out a smile and I smiled back as I impressively watched him while he was cooking. He's really the perfect guy, he's good at everything and it's like there's nothing that he couldn't do. I really admire him so much and I'm hoping that he's the person that I'm gonna be marrying someday.

"By the way, I'm going to introduce someone to you tomorrow, after our class. I've set a dinner for three." Francis said while putting the ingredients of the chicken soup.

It was as if all of a sudden, a pale of cold water was poured all over my body as I heard him. I unconsciously raised my eyebrows. For as long as I've known him this is gonna be the first time that he's gonna introduce someone to me.

"Oh, a friend?" I nervously asked, secretly hoping that I was right, that it's just a friend and nothing more.

"Uhm, right now yeah we're just friends, but when the right time comes, I'm gonna propose and ask her to be my girlfriend and I hope that when that time comes she's gonna accept my proposal because I think I'm really in love with her and I feel like... she's the one." He replied as he turned to me and let out a wide smile.

What?! He already fell in love with someone? And that someone's not me... Who could be that lucky girl?! Is she prettier or better than me that Francis fell in love with her and not with me?! I'm certain that I have a face and a body that could be proud of because if not, I would not be in the modelling industry. I also have brains, in fact I've always been the top natcher in our campus. I'm also nice and friendly, Francis even told me that the title of "miss friendship" fits me because It's like everyone's my friend. So why not me?! Why did he fall in love with someone else and not with me?! I looked down as I tried to control all of my mixed emotions inside of me.

"What's wrong, are you okay?" He asked as he stroked the tip of my hair.

"Uh, yeah. So who's the lucky girl? Do I know her?" I muttered as I looked up to him and tried my very best to force a smile, which I really found so hard to do.

"I don't think so. But you'll meet her tomorrow and I'm sure you're gonna like her." He replied with a wide smile on his face, then he turned back to check the chicken soup.

God! He really seems in love. What's with that girl?! Yeah, I really envy her whoever she is. since it looks like she already has Francis's heart now. But no, as long as they're not officially together I will do everything just to win Francis's heart and get her out of the way. Me and Francis should be the ones to be together. We grew up together and I've known him so much longer than anyone else not to mention we're like soul mates!

"So it's final, okay? Tomorrow after class, you're gonna meet her, I had already made a reservation at a restaurant." He said, still with that wide smile on his face, the smile that, that girl brings onto his face even if she's not actually here with him and he's just talking about her.

"Uhm, I don't think so. Mom asked me to go shopping with her and I already said yes." I muttered trying to make an excuse, although it's really true that I've agreed to my Mom that I will go shopping with her.

"What are you guys talking about?" I heard my mom's voice from the back so I immediately turned and saw her coming inside the house with my Dad.

"Hi Mom, Hi Dad." I greeted my parents as I took each of their hand and put them on my forehead one at a time. (A way of showing respect for Filipinos.)

"Hi Auntie and Uncle." Francis greeted my parents, as he did the same.

"So what are you guys up to?" Asked my Dad as he slightly pinched my nose with a grin on his face and I automatically pouted. I'm totally a big girl now, in fact, I'm already 20 years old but he still treats me just like the way he had always treated his little princess.

"Ah, Uncle. I was just inviting Katie for a dinner tomorrow and supposedly introduce someone to her, but since she said Auntie and her will go shopping tomorrow I'll probably just cancel the reservation that I've made." Said Francis as he looked at me with a considerate smile.

"Oh, no it's okay. We can just go shopping next time. I think I'm gonna be busy with loads of paper works tomorrow anyway." My Mom replied as she amusingly winked at me.

I looked at Francis and he gave me a 'so everything is okay now' look, with a wide smile on his face and all I could do was let out a small sigh. It seems I absolutely have no other choice now but to meet that girl, the girl who seemed to be my greatest rival on Francis's heart!
