Chapter 5 - "Distressed by her presence"

“I must say, I didn’t imagine that this is going to be a candlelight dinner, and how sweet, it’s a candlelight dinner for three.” said Kacey as she slightly softly chuckled while the staff is handing each of us the menus.

“and isn’t the ambiance great?” asked Francis with a grin.

“Right, and honestly, I didn’t know that you also have a hidden romantic side huh.” said Kacey jokingly.

“Yeah, you just don’t know but I can be really romantic.” said Francis with a smirk.

“Alright, now I know.” said Kacey, as she slightly nodded while softly chuckling.

Ah excuse me, I’m here with you guys, just incase you forgot?!

It’s as if, Francis doesn’t even notice me at all and this girl has all of his attention!

“Ahem, Uhm.. shall we order now?” I asked as I faked a smile and then I shifted my eyes from them, then, to the menu.

“Alright, let’s order. You must be starving cute cheeks.” said Francis as he grinned at me.

“Yeah right.” I shortly replied and then I faked a frown before putting down the menu on the side of the table. He loves calling me cute cheeks. He says he likes them and they are really cute, but I don’t know, maybe he’s just really fond of mocking them.

“Oh come on, they’re not getting cute anymore when you frown.. Come on.. She’s gonna smile now,.” said Francis as he widely smiled at me and as always, I couldn’t suppressed to smile as soon as I saw him widely smiling at me.

“There you go.” Francis mumbled with a satisfied grin.

“Okay let’s just order now.” I said still smiling as I took back the menu.

“Uhm, I’m gonna have a spaghetti alla carbonara and an orange juice please and, grilled marinated beef steak and a bottle of wine.” I said to the staff as I kindly smiled to him and then I handed him back the menu.

“Thanks Katie. You definitely know what I want.” said Francis with a smile and then I just sweetly smiled back in reply. We’re always like this, I always order for him whenever we eat outside. I even choose his cologne and he even takes me with him and asks my preferences on what clothes he should get for his self. While whenever I have a shoot, he’s always there to come and pick me, he lifts my things whenever we’re walking and he gives me his coat whenever it’s cold. Right, We’re almost like a typical girlfriend and boyfriend and that’s why I was somehow confident enough that he also likes me and we would end up together, but I don’t know why all of a sudden he has told me that she’s in love with this girl.

“What about you Kacey?” Francis asked her as he charmingly smiled.

“I guess, I’m just gonna have a spaghetti alla carbonara as well and an ice tea.” said Kacey, and then she handed back the menu to the staff with a smile on her face.

“So, It seems you really know each other so well.” she said all of a sudden, as she looked at me.

Absolutely, we know each other so well. That means, I know him better than you know him and we’re exactly alike that’s why we really click. Maybe right now only as friends but I’m really certain that if you just didn’t come into action, soon he might rather fall for me. It’s like, we’re a bun molded by our sweet friendship but now being separated by a tempting patty, and you’re the patty! But oh no, forget that, you could not be the patty because I love patties even if it’s like a huge sin for me to eat them for the reason I always have to maintain my body. You’re a.. a.. Ugh. Whatever!

“Yup, we really do know each other, and I guess more than anyone else.” I replied instead, and slightly emphasizing the last part of my sentence, and then I faked a smile.

“Yeah, as I can see.” she replied smiling at me then, I just looked away from her.

Ugh I don’t know why, but literally, I can’t really take to look at this girl even if it’s just more than a second especially when she smiles like that and I can’t even mention her name, I don’t like hearing her name. Maybe,  it’s obviously because she’s my rival with Francis and I’m sure she could sense though that I’m not really that fond of meeting her, but I don’t know why she still seems to be nice at me.

They’re happily chatting while eating. While me, I’m just listening to them and just trying to entertain myself by rolling my spaghetti with the fork on my hand until I couldn’t take anymore so I just excused myself and then I went straight to the restroom.

I washed my hands and then I took some paper towel and dried them. Then, I slightly fixed my uniform while staring at myself on the mirror.

“Is there something wrong?”

I slightly turned as I heard the familiar voice but then I just promptly looked back on the mirror.

What is she doing here? Is she following me or what? All right, I know I’m just exaggerating and this is a restaurant’s public restroom. But, can’t I just have even at least a short break from this girl’s distressing presence?!

“Nah, I just want to freshen up. It’s a very exhausting day for me.” I replied as I sighed and then I turned to look at her and faked a smile before I looked back again on the mirror and tried to compose myself.

“Uhm, maybe we can just tell Francis that we should just leave now if you want, so that you could rest.” said Kacey in like a, considerate and concern tone? Did I just sound her right?

Is it just really her nature to be nice? Or Is she just really pretending to be nice? But why would she do that for anyway? Right, perhaps, to get Francis’s sympathy and attention. But if that’s the real reason, does she still need to be nice at me even if when Francis’s not around? And besides, there’s no need for her to do that, because she now has not only Francis’s sympathy and attention but even his heart! *sighs*

-My apology guys if I had updated this just now. I honestly don’t have much time to write now a days.
