Auduji' P.O.V
I woke up on a side of a road. I rubbed my head, it felt sore. Like I banged it against a rock. Then again I was shot and suppose to be dead. There was a small two-way road lead to a small lit town on one side and on the other it led to a dark path to who knows where.
My gut told me to go to the small lit town. The pull to it was strange but I followed it. My eyes adjusted to the night light of the Earth's darkness. I walked till I met a place that had stations separated and a store in front of it. The stations had a strange pistol like thing that people placed into what River told me were called cars.I read the sign, it was called Shell. I walked into the store, ducking down so my head didn't hit my head. Apparently humans are just really short; or I'm just really tall.
I walked to the back where there was a bathroom and I walked into it and shut the door. I locked it and went to the mirror. I looked to abnormal for blending in. And I look like a teen all over again.
Upon further inspection of my face, I realized that my age slowed and I look like I was 19 again. 'What the bloody hell.' I thought.
I wanted to blend, so I used my Elvin powers to shorted my white hair so that it brushed my shoulders and it turned black. But some of the stubborn white hair stayed making it look like I dyed my hair with strands of white.
'Blach.' I thought distastefully. My eyes were too otherworldly, I willed them blue but it had the edge and some specks of the vibrant orange in it. My pale skin stayed pale. I could play the albino kid.
I groaned, realizing I'd probably have to enroll into school. Again. 'Fuck right when you think you're out, you get sucked back in.' I thought dryly.
I walked out the bathroom and asked the old white man with the name of Gerald what time and day it was. He stared at me as if he's trying to put something together.
"It's Sunday and 7:54, sonny. Don't cha have school tomorrow?" He looked at me quizzically.
"Um, I kinda just moved here. By myself. Have bad parents, didn't want it, so I moved." I lied smoothly to the old man.
I almost felt bad for the old man when he realized what I had just lied about.
"Well, ya have a place to stay?" Gerald asked.
I shook my head sheepishly, while rubbing my neck.
"Well let me ring, Savannah. My wife. We have an extra room, our son moved out a while ago. It's free for ya. You could enroll into school in the morning. What's your name?" Gerald told me. I was surprisingly happy that I met such a nice old man.
"Name's Auduji, sir. Call me Aude." I told him.
"Strange name. Last name?" He asked as he rang his wife.
I thought about a fake last name. One human, my last name wouldn't pass.
"Watts. Auduji Watts, sir" I smiled gratefully at the old man.
He smiled at me, his front tooth was missing. Somehow it added character to the old man. He pointed a finger up so I knew not to talk while he was on the phone with his wife.
"Uh huh, hi sweetie... I have a young fella here that has a predicament and I was wondering if he could stay with us for a while.... No he isn't a trouble maker. He's a young lad. About 18, 19 at the least. Uh huh.. Yea I will honey. Love you too, bye." He clipped the phone shut and smiled hugely at me.
"So Savannah will let cha stay. Now don't be trying to do anything sneaky, she can smell liar and a con man from a mile away." He tapped his nose and winked knowingly at me. I knew what he meant.
