A/N:  Hey guys! Okay, so this scene gets a little hot, thought it's nothing overly explicit.  Just a warning.  Also, I notice no one has been commenting for months, which is kind of sad and depressing.  My reads are already low, which was why I lost some of my motivation to write.  Probably my fault, though.

Anyway, don't mind me.  Enjoy the chapter (*please*)!

Chapter 7

I hadn’t expected that reaction.  I mean, men have fought over me before, but Gunter truly looked like he wanted to murder the boy.  It was vicious, because they didn’t change into wolves.  Gunter’s fists were flying through the air with brute force, and Jared helplessly tried to block them.  He failed miserably.

Anger flamed inside of me.  I might like to play with men – when I was in this kind of mood, which was almost never – but I loathed it when someone used his superior strength and authority to physically, as well as verbally, abuse the weaker ones.  I, for example, made a point in my life to protect those who needed someone strong in their life.  I’d vowed from the beginning to be there for my siblings, to keep them safe; I never used them as a punching bag.

I didn’t like this alpha’s display of violence.

I didn’t bother talking through mind link.  “Cam,” I said loud enough for him to hear me over the ruckus.  I winced when Jared howled with pain.  It looked like he’d broken his hand in an attempt to catch a punch flying for his head.

“Cam,” I said again, anger seeping through my voice.  “I know you’re going to object to this, but if you don’t stop them right now, I swear, I’ll become a freaking horse to stomp out his brains.”

“I can’t fucking believe this,” he groaned, rubbing his hands over his face.  Nobody was taking notice in our interaction; their eyes were trained on the fight.  Jared was already bloodied and wasn’t even blocking the blows anymore.

I felt Cam gather himself as he started to rapidly steal the alpha’s energy.  Gunter paused briefly as he blinked at the sudden weariness dropping quickly over him like a blanket, but he didn’t even stop.  His eyes were glazed with rage and hatred, an almost trancelike state of being.

I’d never seen anything like it.

When I saw his movements slow I decided it was my turn to intervene.  The blond woman apparently thought the same, because she rushed towards the men at the same time I did.  We reached them at the same time.

She growled at me, but I bared my teeth at her in a nasty smile.  She snarled but turned her focus on the alpha and seemed to be at a loss.  I, however, easily caught the next punch headed to a nearly unconscious Jared.  Gunter turned on me with a snarl, taking a swipe at me instead.  I ducked it and, using his overbalanced stature against him, I drove the heel of my hand into his stomach.  He grunted with surprise and I tackled him to the ground.  He was so tired that he went down easily and was slow to react.  Before he could do anything else, I hit him on the pressure point behind his ear, expertly rendering him immobile for a few minutes.

As he groaned with pain, I turned back to my marked lover, jealousy rising my ire when I saw the blond fussing over him, trying to drag his head into her lap.

“Move,” I said lowly, dangerously.

She snarled at me, baring her teeth as she crouched over him protectively.

Deciding that I didn’t need to deal with this shit, I punched her in the face.  She fell back like a sack of beans, clutching her nose as she began yelling obscenities.  Satisfied that I had her incapacitated, too, I looked around at all the other wolves that had gathered.
