chapter 1
On one beautiful summer day, Avery Johnson who is 15 and her best friend Austin malloway who is 15 as well, went down to the lake and laid their and looked up at the sky making shapes out of the clouds, (Avery) "look that one looks like a flower and a vase" and (Austin) said "aww but it could never compare to how beautiful you are" then (Avery) goes "aww thank you, you always know how to cheer me up, I'm glad to call u my best friend", (Austin) "no problem, I'm always here for you what are best friends for?". Then they started walking home and when Avery got in and her dad had dished out the dinner on he table for her brother Jeremy who is 17 and her little sister Nadia who is 11 and when she sat down all her dad done was talk about what Avery would be when she's older and saying about how proud he is of Jeremy for being a success with being in a band. Then Avery went upstairs and went in her room.
Avery's point of view.
I want to be a cheerleader but I feel really under pressure, I know that my dad is doing it because he wants me to follow my mothers footsteps and I do really want to but I'm so scared that I'm going to disappoint him and that's the last thing I want. I really want to be a cheerleader because I feel like the only way I can feel connected with my mum after her death is to be what she was and be who I want to be, I'm going to try for prom queen as well when I'm in year 11, on the upside I will always have Austin by my side.
