It was finally the day. I was going to the PCA Academy for 1 year. Study in New York. In Manhattan! And I couldn't wait any longer to take the plane.
The two weeks passed very quickly and after the whole Volleyball thing, I didn't even bothered by talking with Ms. Vienna. If Krista was really going to be the Capitan, then that was fine with me. I wanted to see what was waiting for me at PCA about the team. And I didn't receive more letters... Not even one after the first one I got.
"Hey Lalya, ready to go?" Hailey asked taking me out of my thoughts. "Yeah, I am. Give me 10 more minutes!" I yelled across the room. "Okay hurry up!" Ashley replied.
I zipped my bag and I turned off my iPhone, shoving it into my hand bag when I heard a knock on my door. I turned around and saw my mother standing by the doorframe. "May I come in?" She asked with a little sad tone in her voice.
I sighed and smiled at her. I loved my mother but I knew what was coming next. That mother I'm-going-to-miss-you-you-are-still-my-little-girl- behave-because-I-will-not-be-watching-you kind of talk.
"Layla, I just wanted you to know that I'm very proud of you." She started "You earned this trip and I hope you enjoy it. This is a big opportunity for you. Focus on all your studies and get always the highest notes. And please don't do anything you're going to regret." She hugged me and I hugged her back "Mom, don't worry. I won't, you know that." I said trying to calm her down."I know, just... be careful." I smiled "I will."
"Layla Marie Shafer! If you don't come down right now I swear I will go upstairs and drag you to the car, if it’s necessary!" Sam yelled. I chuckled and grabbed my bags. My mom smiled at me and she kissed my forehead.
"Bye girls! Have fun!" My mom yelled from the door. "Bye mom! I love you!" I yelled back closing the window and sitting properly on my seat. We were going in Ashley's car to go to the Airport. "Ready girls?" Ashley asked. "Hell yeah!" Sam said. "We are going to have the best year ever!" We were very excited to go to New York.
While driving there, Hailey turned on the radio and 'Can't Hold Us' started playing. We all sang with our horrible loud voices and I did all of the rap while the girls helped me with 'whoop' and 'yeah' sounds like background. My friends have told me that I have a very nice voice, but I didn't thought so. Especially with what happened in the singing contest.
The way to the Airport was very short. Suddenly we had arrived. I was so excited! We told the boys that we would meet them there. We parked the car and took out our stuff. "It´s okay to leave your car here?" I asked Ashley. "Yeah, we will pick it up when we come back." She answered as if it was no big deal. "Okay."
We entered the main entrance of the Airport. We looked for our friends but we couldn't see very well because of the huge crowds of people walking very quickly. Sam sighed "Maybe we should sit on those chairs and wait..." She suggested "Yeah, maybe on the way we could find the boys." Ashley agreed. We all went to sit on the chairs across the room. We waited 20 minutes and then it hit us, guess what... yep, they weren't there yet. Boys...
We waited the next hour and nothing. "Okay, that's it!" Sam yelled "I will not lose this trip so we should do the check-in and wait for them in the gates where you board the plane." She said determinedly and grabbed her stuff walking in the direction of the check-in.
Where are you guys? We were waiting for you like an hour! Sam got all panicked and now we are heading to the gates for boarding the plane. Meet you there?
I sent a text to Eric, wishing that he replied quickly. But unfortunately we had already arrived to Gate 48 -where we were boarding the plane- and he hadn't answered yet. Another hour passed and we were a little worried that our friends were going to miss the flight.
