I stormed out of the house, ignoring the yells of Candy telling me to stop. I turned around, facing her with tears streaming down my face.
"How could you Candy?! You knew Michael abuses me at school! How could you just go off and date him?" I screamed, backing up slowly.
"I thought it was a different Michael," she stammered, looking at the ground.
I scoffed, crossing my arms.
"I freaking described him to you!" I argued, backing away more.
"Okay fine! Yes, I'm dating him, but-"
"No buts Candy! This isn't even cool! I'll see you later, bye," I interrupted, glaring at her and walking on to the street.
"At least let me take you home Ella!" she yelled, running over to me.
"Don't talk to me!" I screamed at her, going across people's yards.
I stared back at her, seeing how she dropped to her knees, hitting the cement. I rolled my eyes and continued walking.
Eventually, I got back to the house, safe. I quietly walked into the house, noticing my dad wasn't on the couch.
Crap. Ella, that either means he is somewhere in the house hiding, at the bar, or sleeping in his room.
I walked up the stairs, trying not to make a sound. Once I got to the top, I looked around the hallway, making sure he wasn't in sight. I walked into my room, shut the door, and turned on the light.
"Where have you been, Ella?" a voice slurred.
Oh no.
I turned around to see my father standing there, his right hand holding a belt while his left hand held an empty beer bottle.
"I-I was uh hanging w-with Candy," I stammered, backing into the door.
"Without telling me, huh?" he screamed, taking a step closer to me.
"I-I left y-you a no-note," I whimpered.
He raised an eyebrow, chuckling dryly. He took another step forward, slapping the belt on the wall next to me.
"I didn't see no note," he growled, standing right in front of me.
I looked around and saw the note on the nightstand by my bed. I pointed over there, looking at my dad.
"The n-note is over t-there. I p-probably forgot it," I whined, flinching as he looked over there.
He walked over to the nightstand, picked up the note and read it.
"Did I say you could hang with Candy?," he asked, walking back over to me, grabbing both of my wrists.
"N-no, y-you didn't," I whispered.
"So, don't you think you deserve a punishment?" he snarled, slapping me.
I whimpered, shaking my head no. I looked up to notice his eyes full of rage. He lifted a fist up, punching me in the stomach. He threw me to the floor and stood over me.
"You are just like your mother. Worthless, stupid, useless," he snapped, kicking me in the ribcage.
I groaned and kicked him in the legs. I scrambled up as he dropped to the floor, screaming in agony. I opened the door, running out before being pulled back by my hair. I yelped as my head made contact with the floor. I turned over, trying to get up, but he came over, curb stomping me, making me hit my head harder. I started seeing black dots, but tried to ignore them.
