I starred out the window waiting for Corey to walk by. We hadn't talked since yesterday. I didn't know what to say. Is he still upset? I just wanted him to be okay. I played with the hem of my shirt. Where is he? It's half past 1. I looked out, still no sign. A couple minutes passed and I saw him. Running as fast as he could. This boy was in trouble and I just sat there. I grabbed my coat and opened my window. I climbed down, onto the street and ran after him.
"Jase is gonna kill me." I heard him say, kicking a rock. He walked up and into the house. I stayed behind the bush, watching carefully.
"Corey, you didn't bring the drinks!" Jase said.
"I'm sorry, I didn't have enough money. I'm sorry, I really am." Corey replied.
"Idiot."
"I'm sorry. I'll bring extra next time."
"There won't be a next time. You've made to many mistakes."
"No, Jase please. I'm sorry." Corey said, his voice cracking.
"I'm sorry, hand me my gun." Jase said. I didn't know what to do, whether to run in or run to a house to call the police.
"No, p-please." Corey yelled. Before I knew it, I was banging on the door.
"Who is it?" Jase yelled.
"Please let Corey go. Please." I yelled. The door opened and there stood a man, who was what seemed like twice my height.
Jase Cunnings
"Leave, go away." Jase said.
"P-Parker." Corey whispered.
"Why are you here?" Jase snapped.
"I was walking down the street when I heard a familiar voice." I lied.
"What the fuck? So you decided to eavesdrop?" Jase said.
"Parker, just leave!" Corey yelled.
"Shut up! Come in, how about you join Corey and me, I'm Jase by the way." Jase smiled.
He didn't remember. It was just last week when he was attempting to flirt
I saw Corey shaking his head, guilt in his eyes.
"It's getting late, I really should go." I said turning and walking away. I felt a pair of strong, rough hands grab my wrist and pull me in.
"Come in, join us." Jase smiled, pushing me towards Corey.
"What did I tell you?" Corey whispered.
"So what first? Should I get to know you more or just shoot you?" He asked, "I like the second idea. Where's my gun?"
"It only has one bullet." A guy, sitting on the recliner said, handing Jase the gun.
"How should I kill two birds with one stone? Eh, I'll think of something." Jase smiled, looking at the gun. Now was the chance. Jase was still by the door, I ran over and kicked him right where I knew it hurt. It was the only way to get away. I grabbed Corey and ran out.
"You bitch!" Jase yelled. We heard a gun shot and heard footsteps, but we didn't think twice about looking back. We ran until it was dead silent and I looked back.
"I don't see anyone." I said, stopping to catch my breath.
"What the fuck was that?" Corey said.
"What?" I said, confused.
"Why the hell did you follow me? After I told you not to." He snapped.
"I just saved your ass back there and you're yelling at me?" I yelled.
"But you could of died, now Jase is gonna be looking for you!"
"Not if we tell the police, Corey it's gonna be alright."
"You just don't understand! You're an idiot."
"You know what? I'm done." I said, turning and walking down the street.
"Parker, listen." Corey said, walking in front of me.
"What?" I asked, looking down at the ground.
"I'm just scared, I don't want anything to happen to you. I don't know what I'd do if you got hurt." He said. I looked up and he leaned down for a kiss. Of course I kissed back, but it wasn't like the movies. I didn't feel sparks, fire works but I did feel one thing, love.
