My Love

*2 years later*

 Everything seems like a dream, ever since Ardeth and I rode off with the rest of Medjai, I'm not saying it's been an easy road. I mean there was what... 2 kidnappings, 4 deaths, 2 relationships, a Jonathan and 1 very persistent mummy in between and yet I wouldn't have it any other way. 

Ardeth proposed to me a week ago and today is our wedding day, we decided not to make a big deal out of it but we did send news to Evie, Rick, Jonathan and Alex. In response Ardeth received a very very long reply from both Jonathan and Rick in which they described what they would do to him if he ever broke my heart. For once in my life I was happy to wear a dress, and as I placed the headdress on my head (^^^) I had to hold back tears. It was the same one my mum wore on her wedding day and the one Evie wore on hers. My parents taught me so much and yet they're not here to meet my love, the man who stole my heart, although I know that they would love Ardeth and be proud of me, I miss them.

I look at my watch and sigh, before trying to rid my eyes of tears when I realize that it's almost time for our wedding, I can't stop the grin that graces my face. As I exit the tent my ears are filled with the noise of gun shots and swords clashing, my eyes widen in shock as I sprint to wear Ardeth should be. When I arrive I notice a small war occurring between my husband to be along side the some of the Medjai against some other men. My eyes search the battle field for Ardeth, when I spot him I realize that men are coming from all directions at him and he is getting overwhelmed quickly. "Skylar!" I turn in time to catch a sword thrown to me by Gareth, one of Ardeth's men. I catch it nodding my thanks before rushing to aid Ardeth. I swing the sword hitting one that was too close to Ardeth for my liking "Honey? You're having a party and you didn't invite me?" I joke as Ardeth and I fend off the men back to back. He chuckles, I can imagine a smirk on his face as he does. "Sorry Sky, some old acquaintances decided to stop by unannounced." 

Unaware of any of the other fights surrounding us I continue to attack the men, moving away from Ardeth's back slowly but surely and most of all stupidly. I wasn't paying enough attention to my surrounds as I get grabbed from behind, my attacker throwing my sword out of the way and placing his on my throat. He turns us facing Ardeth, "Ardeth!" His accented voice rings above all the sounds of battle, Ardeth faces the man and his men stand down. Ardeth's jaw drops as he sees me struggling in the man's arms trying to free myself, but its useless if I attacked him or struggled too much his sword would end my life. "You wouldn't want your girl to be hurt now would you?" The man caresses my jaw with his grubby hand, "Now drop your weapons." I lock eyes with Ardeth shaking my head, then I study Ardeth in case this would be my last time seeing his face, I drone out the man's voice and focus on my love. If I were to die now, I would be okay with it, but I know it would kill Ardeth especially if he were to witness it, so I'm not giving up not just yet.

I take a step back into the man, my back now touching his chest, I shiver in disgust. "Well would you look at that, I'd say she's warming up to me." The man speaks as I discreetly reach towards the knife seethe under my dress, when I find it I wrap my fingers around the handle of the small knife. I pull it out of the seethe and stab it into the man's knee, before ducking and rolling out of the way. A shot rings out as Ardeth shoots the man in the chest. The men previously fighting Ardeth have been subdued by the Medjai.

I stand up as Ardeth slowly lowers his gun and walks towards me. "I know I'm stupi..." Ardeth captures my lips with his, holding me close. "My love, I wouldn't have you any other way. Will you be my wife?" He speaks as he pulls away, without answering I connect our lips again before pulling away, "Only if you will be my husband."
