Goodnight Kisses

Chapter 2

The day at school had gone fast. Emily was sleeping over today so we decided to stop off to grab two tubs of our favorite ice cream and eat them whilst watching Netflix. After we grabbed the ice cream we waited 5 minutes for the bus and walked the rest of the way to my house.

We got dressed into our night clothes and had a little time to chill before heading downstairs.

"You know that boy that walked past us today?" I questioned, coming back from the kitchen and placing the tubs of ice cream in front of us.

"Yeah, the super hot one. I wish I could forget that cute face!" said Emily with her fist on her cheek thinking about him.

I looked at Emily, disgusted by what she just said...He wasn't that cute I said to myself.

"He was checking me out." I replied, grabbing the remote and setting everything up.

"Girlfriend he's mine!" exclaimed Emily like she was about to pounce on me.

We looked at each other for a while then burst out with laughter.

"You can have him. I have a boyfriend Emily." I exclaimed, putting my hands up by my head.

"Wait. You have a boyfr-" said Emily surprised, interrupted by the door bell.

I opened the door to see who it was and to my surprise it was Nate, my boyfriend.

Nate was my ' jock' boyfriend. He was the captain of the school's football team. Every girl wanted him and every boy wanted to be friends with him. Football was his passion. Something he really wanted to do.

"Nate?" I exclaimed, jumping onto him and rapping my arms around his neck as our lips touched.
"Babe!" replied Nate, hugging me back and spinning me around like a fairytale movie.
"What are you doing here?" I said, surprised to see him.

Nate had spent a month and a few weeks at an advanced football school in another country and was due to come back in 4 days. Today was the first day I'd seen him in what felt like a lifetime.

"I had to come back babe. They wanted me to stay another few months but I told them that all my life was back here and to leave it all for another few months would be too hard. To leave you for another few months would be hard. I've missed you Ali." said Nate, holding my face in this hands.

"I got to go babe but I'm coming back to school tomorrow so I'll see you at lunch. Alright?" exclaimed Nate, kissing me on the forehead.

"Alright!" I replied, hugging him once more.

I closed the door behind him and turned around to find Emily staring straight at me.

"No." I exclaimed, knowing she wanted more information.
"I wasn't gonna say anything!" chuckled Emily, stuffing ice cream in her mouth.
"Ewww." I commented.

We both turned our attention to the movie that was on.

By the end of the movie, Emily was fast asleep. I pulled a blanket over her and let her sleep on the couch peacefully. I then walked up the stairs to my bedroom and pulled my sheets over me.

Darkness was upon us. Nothing but silence surrounding us. I asked myself what tomorrow will bring us and my mind replied "hope".
