It was the morning and Austin had gone back home after the event that happened yesterday. I told both Daniela and Emily about yesterday but told them that I didn't want anything to change just because of yesterday. Emily agreed and Daniela told me to tell her if her brother acted up again. She was younger than him but always seemed to come across as the eldest.
Today school started at 10:30 in the morning and it was already 9:00. I planned to sleep in for a few more minutes but realised it was better to get up. I showered, put on a little bit of makeup and picked out some clothes. I picked out a white and black stripped long turtle neck and threw a black dungaree dress over it. Perfect! I slipped on a pair of black slip ons and was just about to walk out the door when I got a message from Daniela, it read: Message from Daniela at 9:23: We're hanging out on the field before class, come join us. I texted back: Sure, I'm on my way :).
I grabbed my school bag and my keys and headed out the door. The bus came 7 minutes after. The school was open from 9:00 although school actually started at 10:30 today.
When I entered the school building, I was greeted by Emily. We talked all the way to the field where I spotted Daniela under a tree waving at us.
I waved back and ran across the field to where she was sitting down. Emily sat next to Daniela and I sat down opposite them.
"I'm sorry about you know, yesterday." said Daniela awkwardly.
"It's fine. I mean it's not but. I just don't want to ruin friendships so- I'll talk to him." I said.
"Wait. Where is Austin?" I asked, looking around and realising he wasn't here.
"I don't know, he didn't leave when I left this morning. He's probably moping about after he secretly left the house at 12:00 to go to a stupid party. He doesn't even know how noisy he is and to be honest his only saving grace is the fact that our mum and dad went out for the whole day yesterday." said Daniela, so quickly I hardly caught a word and instead just nodded and smiled.
Oh gosh she probably thinks I'm like some sort of smiling and nodding freaky clown girl!
"We're going to Franks Ice Cream place today after school to hang out. You coming?" exclaimed Daniela.
"Yeah come on Ali!" commented Emily.
"Alright, I'll come but I'm not buying!" I replied with an over exaggerated look on my face.
We all laughed.
"Let's head to the cafeteria." said Emily, getting up.
We all got up and headed in the direction of the cafeteria. I continued to look around for Austin in every place we passed but there was no sign of him.
Throughout the day there was no sign of Austin. I had a feeling he was avoiding me. To be honest, after yesterday, I would be avoiding me too.
At the end of period 4, I spotted Austin flirting with another girl. Her name was Alex, she was in my Geography class and I heard all the guys are after her. After he finished 'working his charm' on Alex, I ran up to where he was standing.
"Are you avoiding me?" I asked, trying to get his attention.
No answer.
"Are you?" I ask again.
"Because if you are I-" I said, getting interrupted by the sound of the locker slamming.
"Yes! Yes I am. Now can you just get out of my way? Stop being an annoying little brat Aaliyah." exclaimed Austin, pushing me against the lockers and walking away.
It hurt.
It kinda hurt.
"Austin I-" I mumbled.
