Chapter 8

"Are you ready dear?" asked mom as she poked her head into my room. I closed the suitcase with my wedding outfit in it. "Yeah." i said. A servant came and took the suitcase for me. It was a whole procession of merpeople heading up to the surface. We were going to have the wedding underwater but because of Maden we wouldn't take our chances. A few of us poked our heads above the water and then signaled that the coast was clear. We grabbed rocks and dragged ourselves onto the land and the transformation happened. Me and my wedding party headed into the beach house to get ready. I headed up to my room with the suitcase to get ready. Mom and Aunt Mia came up to help me. When I put on the dress I felt like a princess but then I remembered that I was a princess (soon to be queen.) Mom zipped me up. "You are the prettiest bride ever." said Aunt Mia. "You look stunning sweetheart." said mom. I twirled around. I curled my auburn hair and pinned the curls to my head. Mom put my veil on me. It was a beautiful crystal tiara with a veil that had a long train. I grabbed my bouquet (an arrangement of water lilies.) We headed downstairs. "You look beautiful!" said Risa, Jess, and Ash. Jess was my maid of honor and Ash my bridesmaid. Risa was my flower girl. I smiled. "Thanks." i said. Aunt Mia gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Knock em' dead honey." she said. She and mom left and dad came in. "You look beautiful sweetheart." he said. He gave me a hug and a kiss. A light, cheery tune began to play and Jess began to walk down the aisle in her sky blue dress with spaghetti straps. Then Ash followed her. The tune changed to "Here comes the bride." Risa began to walk down the aisle and sprinkle flower petals. Me and Dad linked arms and walked down the aisle. Everybody stood up and smiled at me. We did our vows and then started the "I do's" Steph smiled. "I do." he said. "Do you take Stephen to be your lawful wedded husband, to love and to hold, in sickness and health, for richer or for poorer, till death do you part?" asked the pastor. I smiled. "I d-" Someone screamed and cut me off. I whirled around to see Maden at the end of the aisle.
