Chapter 6:Testing

We got to his apartment and Zack said he'd be right back. Austin and I got snacks and drinks while we waited. Zack came back carrying something weird. He said it was a multimeter. It's suppose to test electricity. Austin went first to be tested. He had to put weird clips on his fingers, then surge. Then me. I had to put a weird hat on.

"Ok, I need you to pretend your going to explode someone's brain." He told me

"I don't want to. It really hurts."

"Please. Just for the test."

"Sam." Austin said getting close. "Please."

"Fine."

He started counting down from three. Three, two, go. Everything went black. I woke up in a bedroom with a washcloth on my head. I got up and looked in the mirror. I had a bloody nose, like really bloody. I walked out to find Zack and Austin.

"W-What happened?"

"When you did your brain thing, your eyes went inside your head and your nose started bleeding. Then you fainted. I brought you in my room and Zack got a washcloth."

"Thanks. I need to sit down."

"I'm sorry." Zack said.

"For what?"

"For making you do it."

"I did too. I'm sorry." Austin said

"Guys, it's fine. One day I'm going to have to use it and I need to be prepared."

"Well, I have the results of the tests. Austin you can generate over 3,000 volts and Sam you can generate over 10,000 volts. You nearly broke my machine."

"Oh, wow. I didn't know I was that powerful."

"Well, now Ya do. Just make sure you guys don't use your powers in public often."

Great, now all I can think about is the football game. I have to tell them.

"Guys, I have a confession." Well, there's no turning back now was all I could think.

"What is it." Zack asked

"Promise you won't get get mad."

"We promise."

"Ah," I said while putting my face in my hands. "Ya know how we won today against the BEST high school team ever."

"Yesssss..." Zack said

"Well, our team was doing it all until we were tied and the other teams quarter back looked like he was gonna win the game. I kinda sorta re-"

"You rebooted him, didn't you?" Austin asked clearly disappointed

"I know, I shouldn't have, I feel terrible."

"Ok, starting NOW no more using powers in public unless you have to." Zack said

Austin and I nodded showing we agree and Zack had to go home. It was just me and Austin now.

"Ok, now that he's tone I have something to show you." Austin said as he went in his room.

He came back out carrying a pamphlet.

"What is that?"

"It's a pamphlet for an astronomy school called Delta. What if it means something. It came after we first got together."

"Mabe we should ask Zack what he thinks."

"What about our parents."

"Uh...um....what about them?"

"We should talk to them."

"Well, ya see, they don't exactly know about my powers."

"Why?"

"I'm adopted, so it's not exactly what you'd want to tell your half parent. Hey so the random kid you adopted is cursed."

"Cursed?"

"Well it's not a gift."

"I like to think it's both."
