Chapter 22:Undercover

I didn't know what to do. I just didn't feel safe going alone. But, I can't risk anything happening to Alex. I didn't know josh could be such a monster. He's a total creep and I never knew. I wanted to tell Austin, I wanted him to be there to protect me, but I couldn't. I threw the chip and paper in the furnace, got dressed in yoga pants and a white t-shirt. Then put in running shoes, just encase. I told everyone I was going to the library. They said goodbye, except for Austin. He wanted to go with me, but is aid it would be quick. He didn't feel safe, but I rebooted him and took that opportunity to get out. I started running, I ran all the way to the school. Once I got there, I waited a little to go inside. I wanted to be able to control my breathing so they couldn't hear me.

I wanted to try sneaking in, before I just let them see me. It was completely dark. Not even little lights were on like from vending machines, TVs, or the popcorn machine in the theater class. Everything was quiet and dark. I chanced downstairs first, skipping the locker rooms and leaving them for last. There were to many twists, turns, and doors. They could pop out anywhere. I didn't see or hear anything so I went upstairs. Again, nothing. The only place left was restrooms and the locker rooms. I checked the restrooms, nothing. Then the locker rooms, nothing. Where could they be?

I was in the girls locker room, the downstairs one, and tried to think if I missed any rooms. Then, a door opened.

"Sam, nice to see you again."
"Dr. Tremble?" I couldn't help but gasp and jump as I heard him speak.
"I'm sure you've met your stepbrother, Josh."
"S-s-step brother?"

Josh stepped through the door. He looked so different, though. How could the guy I've been dating, be my step brother?

"Hey, Sam." He said, sounding kind of awkward.
"How couldn't you tell me? And why would you DATE ME??!!"

I ran over and pushed him. I started throwing punches. Dr. Tremble had to pull me off. I started fighting him. I was so angry. He followed me, then made Josh, my brother, date me. I heard Josh snap his fingers, and I was frozen. I couldn't move. Dr. Tremble walked out of the room. Josh got really close. He opened my jacket a little bit and found my pocket knife.

"You won't be needing this, right?"
"Where's Alex?"
"Awww, Sam. We never really had her. Don't worry, she's safe at home."
"Why can't I move?"
"I'm like you. Except, father trained me so I can have any power I want. He used to be like us, but something happened with the PNG."
"That's the machine that gave us our powers."
"Ding ding ding, we have a winner."

Then he started to laugh. His laugh sent chills down my spine. It was deeper than usual. I tried rebooting him. It didn't work, though.

"Sis, don't even try. It doesn't effect me."
"Don't call me sis."
"I'll do what I want. We're family, Sam."
"What do you want with me?"
"WE want to get the family together. Not just all the power kids, but you, me, father, and Victoria, or should I say mother?"
"Leave her out of this."
"Ummmm, no."

I kept looking at how different he looked. He looked older than he used to. Also sounded older. He even looked taller. He must have noticed my stare on him.

"Curious?"
"How come you look so different?"
"We use these masks called 'Anna masks' they are called that because of Anna, who can make herself look, sound, or act like anyone. It works on the face, but as for my size, just an illusion. I'm really 23, not 18. By the way," he got close again, "where is she?"
"Why should I tell you?" I spat in his face.
"Because I'm your brother, you can trust me. Also," he put a gun to my head, "this won't kill you, just really, really, hurt."
"J-J-Josh, you don't h-h-have to do this."
"Yes, Sam, I do. So what will it be?"
"I honestly don't know. Mom said, that she's taking her to someone, along with Alana, and when I asked she said she didn't know where they were exactly. I swear I'm telling you the truth."

He lowered the gun. I sighed in relief. He stayed silent for a while. He looked at my, smirked, snapped his fingers, and I was out.

-Josh's POV-
I could tell she was lying, but father was waiting, so I had to bring her to the truck. I lowered my gun and contemplated wether to make her walk or make her faint and have to carry her. I knew if I made her walk, it would be harder to block her powers, and she could run. So I snapped my fingers and carried her bridal style to the truck. I opened the door and it was really quiet.
