Chapter 3 - "You can trust me."

Zayn's POV

I was walking out of my father's company building, my head throbbing with pain from all the paper work and calculations and meetings. I loved my job but sometimes it got too stressing and boring specially when I was hired at first, everyone thought my dad put me in a big position just because I was his son and it took lots of work and time to prove myself. But after I did, it only put more load on my shoulders. But I knew that complaining won't solve anything so I just decided to ignore my headache while walking lazily towards my car with my suitcase in my hand. I saw some paps and I groaned. I wasn't a celebrity so I didn't understand why some of them would block my way and ask me stupid questions. I mean yeah, my father was a famous businessman but being on newspapers and stupid rumors being mentioned about you sometimes wasn't really appealing. I flashed them a fake smile while walking swiftly to my car with them throwing questions at me.

I got into my car and I tried to ignore them but a woman's question attracted my attention. She asked me if it was true that I was now Harry Styles' fiancé. I looked out the window trying to figure out which pap asked me that question and a blonde woman asked me that question again. I thought of dad's words that I should announce my relationship with Harry to everyone. I sighed then forced myself to lie.

"Yeah we're engaged and we're...quite happy." I said then put my hands on the steering wheel and drove past the photographers and the paps. I sighed running a hand through my hair. I was going to go home but I decided to go to Perrie's flat since it's been days since we even talked.

I pulled up in front of her flat's building then axiously went outside of my car, locking it and slowly walking up the stairs leading to her flat.

I knocked once, twice, three times till I heard some shuffling from the inside, then the door was opened roughly and I was met by a teary-eyed Perrie. She glared when she saw me but stepped inside the flat probably knowing I would walk in and close the door behind me, I did, sighing and brushing my hand through my quiff probably ruining it and I didn't care.

"Before you blow up, could you at least explain what I did this time?" I said quietly trying not to engage us into a fight. Though it was always Perrie who snapped at the silliest things.

She scoffed then grabbed a newspaper that was placed on her kitchen counter and threw it lightly at me for it to land in my hands. I looked at it and shook my head realizing it was just a normal newspaper and nothing was special about it.

"Check the second page, third article on the right." She said with a cold expression on her face with her eyes red and puffy and her dyed grey hair was a bit messier than usual and I wondered what screwed her so much.

I opened the page and I saw a pic of me and Harry with a small headtitle and a column. I glanced at Perrie then started reading.

Malik and Styles become one!

'It is probably the biggest and most surprising event of the year! The engagement of Zayn Malik (25) and Harry Styles (21) sons of two of the biggest business men in England. The reason for the sudden relationship is more vague than we expected with some people having concerns that it is just a business connected marriage with no real affection going on between the two. But the earlier confirmation of Zayn Malik proved that things were going smoothly as he confirmed to our reporter that he and the Styles' lad really were together and we quote "Yeah we're engaged and we're quite happy." Those were the words spoken by Zayn Malik after being spotted leaving his father's company builiding. Yasir Malik, owner of the Malik Investment Company did mention to yet another reporter that he was quite happy of how things were turning out for his son and he showed great excitement about the whole thing claiming that it wouldn't only be good for the two young gentlemen but also for the Malik and Styles companies to unite and have a firmer hand on the investement business all over England also confirming that their wedding date was to be announced as soon as the arrangements were settled.'
