Sirius was still on the couch but he had no inkling of an idea that his best mate was planning something involving him.
Also, he had no idea that Remus John Lupin was intently watching him doing absolutely nothing from the dormitory.
Bored, Sirius started to sing a song that he had stuck in his head. "In touch with the ground, I'm on the hunt I'm after you. Smell like I sound, I'm lost in a crowd
And I'm hungry like the wolf.". It was a muggle classic he liked to blast in his room to annoy his mum, along with You Give Love A Bad Name and Another One Bites the Dust.
He had no idea how red Remus's face had become once he heard Sirius singing a song about a wolf.

Sirius was just getting to the chorus of Shining Star (Making My Love) by David Bowe. " Life is like a broken arrow- memory a swingin' door. I could be your great misfortune-
Well I could make you happy every goddamn single day of your life. Making my love like a shining star, Like a shining star, Baby that's what you are, Like a shining star."
"That one's for you, Remus," he murmured. "Except the fact that, you know, I'm the star."
An owl screeched as it flew into the Gryffindor common room. Sirius sat up quickly, hoping no one had heard his comment. He assumed that the owl had mail for James from his parents; he was surprised when it dropped a small cream colored letter onto his own lap.
Sirius rubbed the letter with his fingers. Not recognizing the envelope, he checked for any trace of a name, but to no avail. All it said was his own name written is fancy cursive handwriting much better than his own on the front of the envelope.
Reaching for his wand, Sirius prepared to cast a spell to open the letter. "Diffindo!"
The envelope tore open and a tri-folded paper fell out.
Sirius lifted the note to his face and fingered it open. The note was actually quite short. But , right from first glance, Sirius could tell it was a love letter. That might have been due to the numerous hearts littered around the margins of the paper.
