Lily Evans was genuinely surprised by James.
For some odd reason, the annoying black haired, bespectacled boy was not pleading for a kiss or hug from her.
Evans swore that when she found out the cause of this phenomenon, she would worship it. Unfortunately for her, that meant worshiping James's equally annoying best mate, Sirius. But she didn't know that just yet.
Lily piled her textbooks up next to her bed in the girl's dormitory and headed into the common room. She decided that she would just sit down on the couch quietly and study until she found out exactly what James was up to.
But, to Lily's surprise, the couch was occupied. By not only Sirius Black, but innocent little Remus Lupin. And they were snogging.
Lily gasped. How...what...when did this...why...
Sirius pulled away from Remus to greet Lily. "Heyyyy Evans!" he called cheerfully. "Out for a little late night studying? Or are you looking for your boyfriend so you can do what me and Remus are doing?"
"The first thing," Lily muttered. "You are so annoying."
Remus cleared his throat. "Pads, I believe that would be Remus and I."
Sirius shrugged and began to kiss Remus once more.
Lily sat down on a small sofa next to them. "Remus, is he forcing you to kiss him?" Lily asked.
"No!" Remus shouted, then covered his mouth. "I mean, no, no. I love him."
Lily shrugged and started to look through her notes.
"It would be more interesting," Sirius advised. "If you just decide to study James instead of that boring shit."
Lily glared at Sirius. "Shut up and deal with your own love life Black," Lily grumbled.
Sirius wrapped his arms around Remus. "What's there to deal with? Remus admitted his love for me. I told him I love him. Viola! That's it! How simple, Evans; you could take a lesson from that. Just admit your love and everything will be nice and easy."
Lily placed her fingers on her temple. "I can't admit a love I don't possess, Sirius."
"Hmm, well, I don't see how that applies to you and James," Sirius replied. He was about to continue to harass Lily, but Remus pulled Sirius's face to his chest.
"Sorry, Lily. He can be obnoxious," Remus apologized.
"I'm aware," Lily observed as Sirius tried to wrestle his way out of Remus's firm grip.
Remus sighed lovingly at Sirius's antics.
"That's what I love about him."
