Allie's POV:
"Okay so I will just meet you guys there then." I told Kristen before hanging up the phone and walking through the doors of the library. I sat down at one of the desks by the window. I knew I would have to stay focused if I wanted to make it to the bar by 9 for Jackie's birthday. She was my big in our sorority and there was no way I was gonna miss her party. Our whole sorority was going to be there along with tons of cute guys so I had to be there. Honestly I would rather just go back to the dorms and sleep. I had finished all but one midterm which I had tomorrow afternoon and I felt like I was going to die. I had pulled multiple all nighters in the past week and the last thing I needed was to spend a night with a bunch of drunk frat dudes. Don't get me wrong I love Jackie and I enjoy going out but after the week I've had I just needed a night in watching Netflix.Crap. It was already 8:45 and I only had 15 minutes to go back to my dorm, get ready and then get to the bar in time for Jackies surprise party. There was no way in hell I was going to make it. I gathered up my stuff and headed out. As I walked out side I ran into what felt like a brick wall. I looked up and saw my ex boyfriend, Danny.
Danny and I had dated at the end of high school and through the beginning of our freshman year in college. We had broken up only a couple weeks into first semester and now, in the middle of our second semester as freshman, he was starting to act like the horrible exes you see in the movies.
"Oh hey Allie I didn't see you there..." Danny said with a smirk
"Look Dan I really don't have time for your games right now I need to get going." I snapped back
"Woah there sweetheart no need to get your panties in a twist. I was just trying to be friendly." He smiled back
"Bye Danny" I said as I made my way past him and headed back to my dorm.
5 minutes later I unlocked my door and found my roommate Ciera sitting on our futon waiting for me.
"Hey girl, what took you so long. We are gonna be so late." She said as I set my stuff down
I walked over to my closet and pulled out a cute romper with lace detailing on the bottom and my tan wedges. "I know I'm so sorry but I lost track of time studying and then I ran into Danny..." I trailed off.
"YOU DID WHAT!?" Ciera cried out
"I know, I know. I gave him the cold shoulder though don't worry."
"Thank god. You know how I feel about him." Ciera said with relief.
Ciera had seen me go through the bad breakup with Danny and the hell he put me through which made her hate him even more than I did.
I did a quick look in the mirror and touched up my eyeliner before following Ciera out the door and shutting it behind me.
Finally after basically sprinting across campus we made it to the bar where Jackies party was. As soon as we walked in we were surrounded by my sorority sisters and frat guys that reeked of beer.
"Oh my gosh Ciera and Allie I'm so glad you made it." Jackie slurred as she hugged us both. Saying Jackie likes to drink would be an understatement so this wasn't unusual for her.
I weaved my way through the hoards of people towards a table near the edge of the dance floor Jackie had set up for the occasion. Kristen was already there with her boyfriend Brendan so me and Ciera joined them.
The night was going pretty well. I had managed to make it through the night and was getting ready to go when a boy who looked like death stumbled out of the bathroom with his keys in hand. I could easily tell that he was on some sort of drugs and was in no position to drive home. He practically fell onto my lap before he could make it to the front door.
"Hey watch it man." Brendan said as he stood up, attempting to fight the guy for being a rude drunk.
"Hey Brendan, um I don't think this guy is doing so well look at his face." I said before Brendan could do anything.
"Yeah babe look how his eyes are sunken in and grey. Maybe we should take him to the hospital" Kristen piped up.
"No we can't do that. They will arrest him for whatever drugs he's on." Brendan said.
"Well we can't just leave him here." Ciera said.
"I would say he can come with me but I'm out of the dorm this weekend cause Brad's girlfriend is in town." Brendan said
"My roommate would flip and she already hates me enough." Kristen said
"I mean I guess he can stay with us but i don't know if he is going to fit on our futon." I said
"I can't look after him though I have an 8 AM midterm tomorrow and I don't get out until 1." Ciera said.
"Plus then we have that journalism meeting for the newspaper remember." Kristen said to Ciera.
"Well I guess that leaves me. I have a midterm in the afternoon but hopefully he will be awake and out of here by then." I said grudgingly.
Brendan and Kristen walked with my and Ciera as we dragged the unconscious boy out of the bar and back towards the dorm. You would think four people would be able to carry one guy but the dude had to be at least 6'3 and weigh close to 200 pounds.
After at least 30 minutes including the stops we had to make to catch our breaths and regain some strength we made it back to the dorms. We laid him out on our futon that was underneath my bed and covered him up with a blanket. He had started to shiver on our way back to the dorm so we figured it must have been a side effect of the drugs.
Kristen and Brendan left and Ciera was getting into bed. I grabbed a bottle of water and some Advil and set it next to the boy on the little side table in case he woke up. I looked at him and wondered how screwed up he had to be in order to get this messed up on drugs and alcohol. I climbed up the ladder at the end of my bed and fell into bed. Seconds later I was fast asleep dreaming about the Calc equations I had spent all day studying.
