Allie's POV:
I pulled out my mascara and put the finishing touch on my makeup. I didn't wear much usually but Ciera convinced me to look a little nicer to make up for the fact that last time I saw Dylan I was wearing no make up and I was drenched in sweat and probably smelled like feet.
I ran over my straightener over my long brown hair once more before getting changed into my outfit for the night. I threw on a pair of my ripped dark wash skinny jeans and a cream colored sweater. I paired it with my tall brown boots and a red scarf to show my support for the coyotes. In reality I was a huge Caps fan being from Virginia and all but for tonight I was just there to have fun.
I grabbed my Kate spade wallet and my phone before heading out the door with Ciera. We opted for an Uber in case we were too tired to drive home later that night. We took the Uber to pick up Andrew and his friend.
Andrew was my younger brother. We were only separated by three years so we were always pretty close. The only thing was that Andrew had special needs. When we were younger it was really bad. My parents had a hard time taking him out places and he would get really anxious in social situations and the frustration with not knowing how to function normally would cause him to throw fits all the time.
He lived with other people who had special needs in a home about 30 minutes from campus. It was just far enough from me that I was able to have my own life and not constantly be with Andrew but close enough that I was able to visit often and be there if anything ever went wrong.
We got to the house and my brother and his friend were outside waiting for us.
"Hey Andrew. I missed you. How have you been." I greeted him getting out of the car to give him a hug.
"Hi Allie. I missed you too." Andrew replied.
"Who's your friend?" I asked gesturing towards the girl who was standing next to him.
"This is my girlfriend Sophia." He said back with a smile.
I looked over at Ciera who had a smirk on her face. We all piled into the Uber and headed towards the game.
"Even your brother is getting some action. I think it's time you move on from Danny and get back in the game." Ciera whispered to me.
"Ciera!" I gasped and nudged her with my elbow.
I had been really shaken up after I broke up with Danny and I guess I just got too busy with school to ever get back out there. I hadn't even kissed a boy since Danny. I didn't want to jump into anything and I was really vulnerable after Danny. I just wasn't ready.
We pulled up to the arena and got out at the front entrance. There were tons of people there. I immediately looked over to Andrew to make sure he was okay. These were the kind of situations that would put him over the edge. But he looked fine. He was holding hands with Sophia and they were talking to each other. I'm glad he had her and he seemed to be much happier when I came to visit him so I guess his new girlfriend was a good thing.
We made our way inside the arena and I bought Andrew and Sophia some chicken sandwiches for dinner, and Ciera bought her self some pizza. I wasn't hungry so I didn't get anything.
We walked down the stairs to our seats and waited for the game to start. During warmups I swear I could've seen Dylan wink at me when he passed by but I didn't want to say anything to Ciera because I knew she would make a bigger deal out of it than it needed to be.
After warm ups they announced the starting line for the opposing team followed by the Coyotes. When they began to announce the coyotes the lights went dark and they started blasting music and flashing lights. I looked over to Andrew just to make sure he was okay but he didn't even notice the lights or noise because he was too busy staring at Sophia. They were so cute.
The first period went by pretty quickly. No goals were scored by either team and surprisingly no fights broke out either. The second period passed and the same thing happened. The third period however was a different story. About a minute in Dylan and some guy with the last name Domi were racing up the ice on a breakaway and Domi had the puck. He made a beautiful saucer pass right to Dylan who made a one time shot right into the back of the net. It was such a nice goal and Dylan made it look so easy. The whole stadium leapt out of their chairs and cheered. Dylan and his teammates gathered right behind the goal and right in front of where we were sitting.
I clapped along with Ciera and Sophia but I guess Andrew was really feeling bold because he slapped on the glass and kept jumping up and down. I was completely shocked seeing him so expressive but I giggled along with him and was happy to see him enjoying himself so much.
The game kept going on with each team shooting the puck at the goal with no success.
The final score ended up being 1-0 coyotes wit Dylan scoring the only goal of the game. After the final buzzer ended. They coyotes lined up for the announcing of the three stars of the game. First it was Max Domi, the guy who had assisted Dylan on the goal and then next it was the goalie since he did such a good job blocking all of the other teams shots. Finally Dylan was the third and final star of the game. He skated right over to where we were sitting and flipped a puck over the glass right to me.
I almost didn't catch it considering I'm a huge klutz and I had tons of people swarm me trying to steal the puck from my hands. Ciera shooed most of them away and we sat back down as the home team have a final salute before going back to the locker room. I pulled the puck back out to show Andrew when I noticed that there was some writing on the back of the puck. It read,
"Meet me by the locker room"
Followed by his signature and a winky face. My jaw dropped to the floor and I showed Ciera.
"Allie oh my god. He totally has the hots for you!" She squealed.
"He does not. I'm sure he just wants to say thanks again for the other night and then we will never talk again." I tried to tell her.
"Yeah right. You're dreaming girlfriend. But come on, let's go. He won't be waiting forever." She said with a smirk.
And with that we filed up the stairs and tried to find where the locker rooms were. Ciera had asked a security officer where they were but he said that we could only get down there with special clearance. I showed him the puck and he gave in and took us down to a complex maze of tunnels. There he led you to silver door embossed with the coyotes logo on it.
"The team should be out soon. You can wait here." The officer said before disappearing down the long hallway.
What in the world could Dylan possibly want with me. I was a nobody and there was no way he liked me. At least that's what I tried to tell myself despite what Ciera thought.
