Dylan's POV:
After my so called date with Allie I came home even more confused then I was before the date. I had kissed her and then when I left her I immediately felt regret. She probably didn't even like me that much and just felt bad for me after the whole bar incident.
I didn't want to seem like I was to clingy so I waited a day or so before I decided to call her. But we were on a road trip and I just lost track of time. When the team returned home three days later I figured instead of calling her I would just come and surprise her. The date started out fine but she was just really sensitive and I couldn't say or do anything right.
I mean yeah I probably shouldn't have laughed as much as I did when she fell but I found it cute but I guess she didn't think of it the same way.
But I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I mean she was way out of my league anyways and she probably thought I was just some dumb jock who just wanted a hook up. But if she thought that then she was wrong. Girls were always trying to get with me because I played hockey or because of my money. No one ever liked me for me which hurt. A lot.
"Dude you look like a deer in headlights. What happened?" Max asked me as I walked into his apartment the next morning.
"Allie happened." I said still with the same blank stare on my face.
"That girl from the bar?" He questioned.
"That's the one." I responded.
"What did she do?" He asked still puzzled as to why I was so out of touch.
"She yelled at me. But I don't really know why. I think we broke up though." I responded.
"I didn't even realize you guys were dating." Max said chuckling.
"I mean we went on a few dates so I mean I guess we were dating." I said
"Dude I know you don't get out much so I'm gonna spell it out for you. Allie probably didn't realize that you actually like her. She probably thought you were just playing her or you felt bad for the bar incident. I mean you waited like three days to even speak to her after you kissed her for the first time." Max explained to me.
"Are you sure? Maybe she just doesn't like me back and didn't want to tell me so she flipped out on me to let me down easy." I argued.
"You're an idiot ya know that? She wouldn't have gone out with you twice and then a third time if she didn't like you. Trust me. I have way more experience when it comes to girls man." He said shaking his head.
It all made sense now. That's why she had been so cold to me today at the rink. She thought I was making fun of her actually and that I just felt bad for her. Not that I liked her for real. I had to call her like now and explain.
"Allie thank god!" I said when she finally picked up after I tried like four times.
"This is Ciera."
"Oh. Where's Allie?" I asked.
"She's out. I made her leave her phone here so that you couldn't talk to her." She said coldly.
"Why can't I talk to her?" I asked confused.
"You're an idiot. She's had such a rough couple of years and she finally decides to give someone like you who she would have never trusted or given a chance in the first place and then you go and mess everything up." She explains.
