Allie's POV:

I had fallen asleep on our futon after my long day at Andrews. I woke up to my phone ringing.

"Hey um Allie?" I heard a guy say.

"Hi. Who's this?" I asked.

"Oh hey sorry this is Dylan." Dylan said.

"Oh Dylan. What's up?" I asked a little surprised.

"Um well actually I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight. I know we got cut a little short last night so I was hoping we could make up for it." He said nervously into the phone.

I didn't know if I was ready for this yet. I mean I know Nina had told me to get back out there and be a normal college kid but I don't know if going on a date with a famous hockey player necessarily qualified as normal.

"I don't know Dylan. I've had a pretty rough day." I said sort of hesitantly.

"Come on. It will be fun and I bet that I can cheer you up even just a little bit." He said and I could tell he was smirking even over the phone.

"Okay fine but nothing too fancy." I said finally giving in to Nina and Ciera's nagging.

"I'll pick you up at 7:30?" He asked.

"Sounds good. See you then." He said before hanging up the call.

It was already 7 so I didn't have much time to get ready. I threw on a pair of leggings and a silk white tank top. Then I grabbed my favorite brown sweater and slid on a pair of sandals. I touched up my make up and threw my hair up into a really high ponytail. By the time I was all set it was 7:20 and Dylan would be here soon.

Not even a minute later I heard my phone go off across the room. I walked over to see who texted me. It was Dylan saying he was here. I walked down the stairs and out the front door of my building to see Dylan leaning on the hood of his Jeep. I want going to lie, he looked pretty hot in a pair of jeans and a button down shirt with a pair of boat shoes.

"Hey!" He said smiling as I walked over to his car.

"Hey." I said back

He came over to my side of the car and opened the door for me.

"Thanks" I said with a small grin and climbing into the car.

On the way to wherever we were going we made small talk. He asked things like what classes I was taking and what my major was. I asked him questions about hockey and where he had played previously.

We finally pulled up to a giant mall with a sign that said Dave and Busters on the side entrance.

"I know you had said you had a rough day so I thought we could come here to take your mind off of it." He said looking at me for approval.

"I've never been here before but let's do it." I replied getting out of the car.

When we walked in I looked around to see where he had taken me. The place had a smaller sports bar off the one side and then the other side had arcade games and all sorts of different games and activities. It was like an adult Chuck-E-Cheese.

We first went to the sports bar to get a little bit of food. I wasn't that hungry so I just got a few wings but Dylan on the other hand ate his food like it was his first meal of the week. Not to mention when I didn't finish my wings he ate the rest of those too. I chuckled to myself at his appetite but soon turned my head over to the screen to catch the highlights from the Caps game the night before.

"So you're a hockey fan, eh?" Dylan asked noticing my intense focus on the screen.

"Haha sort of. I grew up watch hockey so I've always liked the game but I don't really follow it." I explained.

"Well a girl who likes hockey immediately has my full attention. What do you want to do first?" He asked as we payed the bill. He insisted on paying for both of us but I didn't want to make him pay since he had been so generous yesterday with the tickets and everything. So we split the bill instead.

"I say we play air hockey first." I suggested.

"Okay but be prepared. I'm killer at this game." He said

"Oh we'll see about that." I said with a smirk.

We played a couple rounds of air hockey and after me beating him three times in a row I think he wanted to move on for the sake of his own ego.

The whole night we played different games and at each one you won a certain amount of tickets. By the end of the night we had so many tickets I couldn't even count.

"I'll be right back." I said leaving Dylan to go to the bathroom while he counted the tickets.

When I got back all the tickets were gone and Dylan was standing there with a giant teddy bear.

"For you!" He said with a sheepish grin handing me the bear.

"Dylan thank you. It's adorable." I said thanking him with a small side hug.

We walked back out to his car and piled in. The short drive home was short but consisted of me mostly rubbing it in Dylan's face that I crushed him at almost every game we played. I was a very competitive person. Finally we pulled up to the front of my dorm and Dylan parked and offered to walk me up. I took him up on his offer and we walked up to the third floor of my building and down the hall to my room.

"Thanks for agreeing to come out with me." He said sheepishly and looking down at the ground.

"Thanks for convincing me to come out. I had a great time and it was nice to get out for a change." I replied.

"Would you maybe want to go out again? Like tomorrow night maybe?" He asked looking up from the ground.

I looked up and into his brown eyes. "I think I would really like that." I said with a small smile.

His face lit up and he told me he would text me tomorrow to plan something. He gave me a quick hug before I disappeared into my dorm room. I shut the door and began getting changed into a pair of sweats and a tshirt before climbing into bed. I can't remember the last time that I had such a good time or a time where I wasn't constantly worrying about my brother or grades or anything else.
