Waiting silently in the dark,
For something so bright,
To instantly appear.

That's what a flicker of light does.

It appears, almost instantly.

I can't explain why
But I feel
It's always there
To guide my darkened vision

A flash of light,
Is more dependable than you.

You, who hides in the dark,
Seemingly by a light switch
But you refuse to turn on the light
To guide my shielded eyes.

You claim you're protecting me,
You claim you're helping me.

But that flash of light,
It's what supports me,
And adds brightness to the world

Even if your claims are true
Please leave my light.

Because darkness,
despite its shield,
It is no way to live your life.

Live by the flash,
For it can lead you,
But only for as long as you live,
In the bright moment.
