Chapter Thirteen (Part Two)

  "Hey babe, whatcha doing?" Camila hummed while going to stand in front of the lieutenant. When she reached Lauren's designated area and saw the paint on her hands, it brought back memories of a simpler time for them both. The look on Lauren's face was priceless, just as the brunette had thought. The sheer shock was enough to put a smile on the doctor's lips, but the adoration that spilled from the green eyes simply didn't need words. The marine stood up abruptly, dropping a few brushes in the process, and Camila laughed at the small amount of blue paint that had found itself on the older woman's face.

"Uh, um, I thought you were working late tonight. Uh-" Lauren coughed out. The poor raven-haired woman was flustered to say the least. Not only had Camila's appearance been a surprise (a good one at that) but her choice of clothing made the marine's breath hitch in the back of her throat.

"Turns out you got lucky and I'm off for the weekend. You can sit back down there hun, don't let me interrupt the artist at work." Looking at the older woman in the nervous state was new to the doctor. With the red tint invading porcelain cheeks, it was clear she was in fact caught off guard. Satisfaction set into Camila's features as she approached the lieutenant. "Are you good there, lieutenant?"

Lauren simply nodded while taking her former seat and looking the young doctor up and down. It had been ten days since they'd seen each other and right now, the oldest of the two realized just how long that was. Camila's legs were being put on display thanks to the spandex shorts that hugged the curve of her ass barely reaching her mid-thigh in length, and the hoodie. The hoodie was clearly too big for the brown-eyed girl and that alone made it more enticing than anything. But the way it fell on Camila's small body, made the lieutenant squirm. Her eyes made their way back up to her favourite pair of hazelnut irises and the look on her girlfriend's face stated she had indeed been caught staring.

"Like what you see?" Camila laughed as Lauren nodded profusely before she had even finished her sentence. The brunette put each leg on the either side of Lauren's thighs and giggled as the older woman's hands immediately went to her waist. She wrapped her arms around the marine's neck and grinned before pulling the raven-haired girl in for a much awaited kiss. The eagerness of the lieutenant caught the youngest off guard, but not before Lauren had slid her tongue inside her mouth. The doctor's hands went to her chest before the marine could deepen the kiss any further.

"Hi." Lauren mumbled as she caught her breath.

"Hello." The youngest responded. "How was your day?"

"Boring without you. I tried to paint and well here I am covered in it, so you can clearly see how that went. How about you?" Lauren chuckled to herself despite the frustration that came with getting back into the hobby.

"Well it was alright, better now that I'm here with you." She smiled at the lieutenant before wiping the small blue spot of paint off her cheek. "I think it's cute when you have paint all over you. Reminds me of high school you."

"And I like when you wear my clothes." Lauren smirked back to her sorta-girlfriend who sat happily on the marine's lap. She brought the younger girl into a hug as she wrapped her arms around her waist and nuzzled her face into the side of Camila's neck. "I missed you, baby."

"I missed you too." The doctor sighed contently as she put her arms around the lieutenant's neck and kissed her cheek. "But I do have something that might make up for it." Camila hummed back before placing another kiss on the lieutenant's lips and getting up to go over to the sound system. The pout on Lauren's face was ridiculous, in that moment Camila wished she had a camera to document it. The oldest of the two looked like a mistreated puppy and it was adorable. However, the young doctor had other plans. "Come on now don't pout I'm just changing the music."
