-----------------------------------------
The day had gone and so had my sister. I packed my bag and threw it over my shoulder, I pulled up my boyfriend jeans and tucked a strand of straggly hair behind my ear, I would describe it but I've always had about 12 different shades of blonde in my hair naturally, my sister does too. As I took a step away from my desk and in front of my teacher I felt a hand latch onto the strap of my bag and pull me back. My body swung and my resistant leg pushed forward. The hand was now placed on my shoulder, a friendly gesture of sorts.
"Poppy, the bell doesn't dismiss you does it?" A sarcastic voice mocking from behind me, that voice was my revolting teacher Mr. Barlow. I groaned and rolled an eye "I guess not." as I turned around I tried not to fix my eyes on his dreadful wig gelled across his head. The hand patted at my shoulder and pushed me forward a little,
"Haha no, no you're right. It doesn't." Mr. Barlow always tried too hard to be funny "But," he extended and paused then sighed shortly, "Enjoy your weekend kids!" I pulled my shoulder from his grip and merged myself into the crowd, he then rambled on about being safe - as per usual everybody ignored him and left the room.
I rushed out tugging the sides of my back pack, pushing through the doors to the exit and walked out into the summer air. The humid breeze brushed through my hair and past my face cooling me down a little, there was an orange glow in the atmosphere and the trees stood still. Everyone around moved onwards in a roar of gossip pushing past each other; just ahead some were having a water fight, screaming and jumping on top of each other like animals. After dramatically running after her and following in what I thought were her footsteps, I had found my sister. Since she had been sent out of second period for the one hundredth time, I suppose she had decided to skip the rest of the day however his wasn't the first time.
Perched on the wall, the sun set on her pale face and legs making her glow. She was smoking a spliff on school grounds, the smoke wrapped around her before it drifted off into the late afternoon.
She folded her arms and inhaled. Wearing an oversized grey fleecy flannel with a plain t-shirt underneath, her jeans were dark and skinny with worn rips in the knee, she wore a black pair of vans and a silver anklet with black trainer socks, her hair was left messy and down much like mine and she wore her burgandy baseball cap. Her collection of bracelets jingled as she raised her hand to take a drag every so often, her nails were bitten short and painted black and she wore a pendant which met the line of her shirt collar. Pippa had the same makeup on as the night before; glittery and smokey although it had been smeared across her face and faded. Her piercings were dotted around her ears in random places with one on her lip.
"Hey!" I yelled as I skipped over to her. Pippa turned around to greet me with a mischievously tired smile however it was clear she had been crying. I'm no Sherlock Holmes but the evidence wasn't hard to spot, if you overlook the smudged eyeliner from the night before you could see the stained streams of mascara that had recently run down her pale face. Yet again.
