Chapter 8:
The maze.
"I CAN'T WAIT!" I exclaim to Draco as we get back the common room.
We head up to our dorms and he follows me into mine.
"Whoa, what you doing?" I ask as he takes his top off.
"Did I not tell you, our shower is broken. Dumbledore said he's gonna get Filtch to fix it but when that is I don't know, so I need to shower here!" He pleads.
"Fine, but do me a favour, get changed before you come back out." I reply as he enters my bathroom.
I sit on my bed and relax for a bit, before deciding to change into my pyjamas- a pair of green silk shorts, and my oversized 'I love New York' hoodie, as well as my bed socks. I completely forget Draco is in the bathroom and I walk straight in.
"Uh, Amber!" He says covering up.
"Shit, I forgot. Sorry!" I say as I slip.
God damn these tiles. They get all steamy when you have a shower, and they then get wet. I hear the shower stop, and Draco rushes over to me, a towel round his waist.
"Are you okay?" He asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I reply sitting up, but then I begin to feel dizzy, so I fall back onto him.
"Do you want me to take you to Madame Pomfrey?" He asks cradling me in his arms.
"No, I'll be fine. Just help me back to my bed please." I reply.
He picks me up bridal style and carries me to my bed, gently letting go of me, and wrapping me in the silk green bed sheets. He kisses my forehead before going back into the bathroom and changing. I curl into a ball and gently doze off into dreamland.
"Amber... AMBER, WAKE UP!" Rebecca shouts from beside me.
"Go away, just five more minutes!" I say as I turn over.
"Draco, your boyfriend, is waiting for you outside." She replys.
I sit up quickly and look at the time. Three minutes past nine. I remember at dinner telling Draco that in the morning I'd be ready by ten past nine. I get up and sprint to the bathroom, quickly applying mascara and eyeliner, and finishing off with lip balm. I then tie my hair into a messy plait and look at my watch. Five past nine. I quickly shove on my Slytherin competitors uniform and pull on my converse. I then grab my bag and open the door. Draco is stood in his normal uniform, smiling at me.
"Hello champion." He kisses me softly.
"Don't say that, you'll jinx me!" I reply.
"Are you ready to win?" He asks as we walk down the stairs.
"Stop it Draco, I mean it." I reply.
As we walk to breakfast, people cheer me and wish me luck. I smile as I get to the Great Hall. Blaise, Crabbe and Goyle have made a banner saying 'Good luck Amber' and then in smaller writing 'We know you'll win' with a winky face.
"Aw, thanks guys." I say pulling the three of them into a hug.
I munch on a piece of toast before heading to the black lake, my thinking place. I debate on how to lure him to the cup. Do I use the imperious curse, or do I simply tell him I know where it is, that I heard 'Moody' talking about it?
"Y'alrigh?" Someone says from behind me.
"Cedric. Uh, yeah I'm good. You?" I reply.
He smiles at me.
